Over the last two days, with the schools starting back, members of the TSG have been carrying out road safety patrols in the Belfast area. As a result of this activity numerous offences were detected including vehicles being used without insurance, driving whilst disqualified, displaying false number plates, drugs possession, excess speeding, misuse of mobile phones and careless driving. These detections resulted in penalty notices being issued and report files to the PPS.

The law about fireworks is clear - it is illegal to possess, sell, handle or use fireworks if you do not have a licence. You can be fined up to £5,000 for breaking the law.

Stay safe and make sure you only buy fireworks from a licensed seller and that you are licensed to use them.

Police are concerned for the whereabouts of missing 16 year old female, Paris Williams. Paris was last seen in the area of Divis Street at approximately 0300 hours on Saturday 29th August. Paris is approximately 5ft tall, slim build with short dark hair and was last observed wearing a black hoodie, black leggings and a white bandana.

Anti-Social Behaviour continues to be an issue at the forefront of community policing.

East Belfast officers arrested a young person at the weekend in the vicinity Albertbridge Road, Belfast on suspicion of a number of offences in relation to ASB in the East Belfast area.

Police work closely with our CCTV colleagues and CCTV continues to play a leading role in identifying offences and offenders.

Please continue to report anti-social behaviour to police using our online platform, 101 and in an emergency 999.

We have unfortunately seen a number of incidents involving young people on e-bikes and e-scooters. Some have resulted in serious injuries.

Yesterday there was another incident in North Belfast.

Parents and guardians, please stop buying these for your children or allowing their use they are dangerous and often classed as motor vehicles.

If they are classed as motor vehicles they require:

- A valid driving licence to ride
- Insurance
- Resgistration
- Compliance with road traffic and construction & use regulations

There can be serious legal consequences for those caught.

If a vehicle is seized because it is being used without insurance, it can be subject to destruction after 14 days unless the owner applies to the court, at their own expense, to seek its return.

Don't risk your safety, someone else’s, your vehicle or your driving licence
