We normally dont do this as a rule but after reading Fiona's story about Max and the effect he has had on her husbands condition how could we not at least share her story and link to vote for Max, full details in the article.
Please have a read of the effect Max has had on their lives below and give him a wee vote - just like this admin will when voting opens on Monday 8th June.

My husband Mark, is a Veteran now living in county Fermanagh, has faced an incredibly difficult journey. After serving his country, he developed Complex PTSD linked to his time in service during a tour in Northern Ireland. In 2022, his condition became so severe that he spent five months in hospital. For his family, it was a deeply distressing time, and there were real fears about what the future might hold.
Today, things look very different—and a huge part of that is thanks to Max, his assistance dog.
Max has not only contributed to transforming Mark’s day-to-day life but has now been recognised as a finalist in the Northern Ireland Pet Hero awards , shining a light on the life-changing role assistance dogs can play for Veterans living with PTSD.
But this story is about more than just a competition.
Mark wants to use this to:
•Raise awareness of PTSD in Veterans
•Help reduce the stigma around mental health amongst veterans
•Encourage others who are struggling to reach out and seek help
•Highlight how difficult it is to access assistance dogs in Northern Ireland compared to the rest of the UK
As a family, we couldn’t be more proud. Four years ago, we were watching someone we love become incredibly unwell. Today, we are sharing a story of hope, recovery, and support.
Voting for Max opens on 8th June, and we’re asking anyone who believes in second chances and support for Veterans —to get behind him.
Let’s make this one of those rare but much-needed feel-good stories about a Veteran in Northern Ireland.
I hope to receive a direct link for voting. I will send it to you then if you could share with friends, family and post on social media. We would appreciate it so much.

Kind regards
Fiona

Welcome to !

A huge congratulations to Sig Patterson and Sig Kinnon who last week successfully completed the Common Military Syllabus (Reserve) at Ballykinler Training Centre.

‘Battle Camp’ is where training gets real — combining fieldcraft, navigation, weapon handling, section tactics, and physical resilience. It’s designed to push recruits beyond their comfort zone, building the skills, confidence, and teamwork needed to operate effectively in demanding environments.

The Pass Off Parade marks the end of demanding training and the beginning of their journey as Reserve Signallers. Proud, disciplined, and ready for the challenges ahead.

After almost 60 years of combined service, our own SSgt Gordon and Sgt Colgan have retired from service after fantastic careers in the Army Reserve.

Where there was ‘Flash’, there was ‘Jono’. Friends for life!

The pair bonded over their love of Operational Shooting, often trading 1st place back and forth in the Sqn, the Regiment, Brigade, Corps, and even International competitions. Their expertise have helped numerous members of the Sqn improve their shooting skills over the years.

Over the years, they have taken part in numerous exercises across the world as well as both serving on the UN Peacekeeping Operation in Cyprus.

From everyone at , we wish you both the very best on your retirement.
