Tiger cub update!

The cubs are becoming more adventurous and are starting to explore their surroundings, taking in all the sights, sounds and smells of the world around them.

They're still staying close to mum though, who keeps a watchful eye on her little ones and never lets them wander too far.

We can't get enough of watching their confidence grow every day!

A massive thanks to Tony Ham for these incredible photos. Tony Ham Photography

The recent heatwave has the margay seeking out the coolest shady spots around the enclosure

And honestly… we can’t blame them. Looking this relaxed is definitely the right way to spend a warm afternoon

These beautiful cats are perfectly adapted for life in the trees, but even the most agile climbers know when it’s time to stretch out and stay cool.

It’s World Bongo Day

We’re home to three beautiful eastern bongos, mum and daughter Embu (19) and Enye (10), both born at Howletts, alongside Narvari, who joined the herd from Chester Zoo just a few months ago.

And today is extra special because Narvari turns 2 on World Bongo Day itself 🥳

Eastern bongos are classified as critically endangered, with thought to be as few as 100 remaining in the wild, making every individual incredibly important for the future of the species.

Happy International Dhole Day

Did you know a group of dholes is called a pack, and they’re known for being some of the most social and coordinated hunters in the animal kingdom? We’re lucky to have four dholes here at the park, and you can usually spot them near the entrance.

Come and see them this May Half Term during Springfest, with kids tickets for just £10, it’s the perfect wild day out for the whole family.
