For anyone concerned about traffic management plans in accordance with the 2050 plan.
Many who have visited London or Oxford may be wondering if Bedford has any similar plans so please use the links in the second picture and see for yourself.
Obviously these plans are subject to change and can be opposed and petitioned against.

Firstly the bidding system is ripe for abuse by the bidder and the housing department. Just getting on the housing list is very difficult, my wife and I had this problem and were told we earned too much to be considered (God forbid we actually pay our bills).
I am going to assume that this woman is local to Bedford (lived here longer than the average waiting period on the housing list) and if so good for her in finally clearing this matter up.
When I've been canvassing in blocks of flats which are mainly social housing the tenants seem grateful to have their properties but all have various complaints about either the housing association or the council, this is something Id like to help do something about.
Bedford people first.

Yet another stabbing, after living on Tavistock street for some years I've seen a lot of crime, a lot of fighting, people trying to sell me shoplifted goods, drug dealers openly selling behind the shops, s*x workers offering their services at 6.30 in the morning when I'm on my way to work and much more.
It almost seems as if it's a containment area for crime, keeping it away from the town centre.
Most likely there will be an active police presence for a couple of weeks then back to normal.

A teenage boy has been seriously injured after a stabbing in Bedford’s Tavistock Street.

Yet another Bedfordshire police officer sacked for gross misconduct, the article doesn't press on why the officer wanted to dismiss the assault in favour of the suspect. Could he have been too lazy to bother? Could he have taken the side of the suspect because of some prejudice he held towards the complainant? Whatever the reason it doesn't look good for Bedfordshire police but at least they have sacked him.

A police officer has been sacked after he failed to investigate an assault and misled the force control room.

I've held back from speaking about the tragic train crash near wixams.
Obviously my prayers are with those who were on or affected by the crash. I commend the uniformed service men and women who swiftly attended the scene.
Unfortunately I do have to call out the union leader for the transport industry (Eddie Dempsey).
You should have made public announcements immediately saying that you would insist or carry out an independent enquiry. The train driver who tragically died in the crash's family have agreed to name him, you need to get behind that family because I fear he may be made a scapegoat and as a probable member of your union he and his family deserve no less than a full independent enquiry to go alongside the public enquiry which will follow. Mick lynch (who I had no love for) would have announced that the enquiry was already underway.

Although the East West Rail extension and the chaos it's causing is gaining national media attention I think it's still going ahead no matter what.
When I attended the public meeting last year the EWR representative told us that the proposal had been put before every prime minister since Boris Johnson and none of them have blocked it, the worst part is that the funding for the project is coming from the treasury meaning you the tax payer are being made to pay for the privilege of the inconvenience and in many cases being forced to move so your home can be demolished to make way for the new Oxford to Cambridge line.

Julia Virdee faces the "heart-breaking" prospect of being forced to move from the home she loves.
