As I've said before I attended the public meeting last year about the rail project and there was very little push back from the council and labour MP who chaired the meeting. It was always going ahead and now we start getting little clues as to why the local authorities aren't really doing much to address the public's concerns about it.

One or two of these infrastructure projects have been promoted and praised by certain green party councillors and as I've pointed out in posts and a video I made, these projects also include a lot of waste going to landfill (in my experience around 10-20%). All materials are delivered by combustion vehicles (not always diesel but bio fuel) and all plant vehicles have combustion engines so maybe good for the town but not great for the environment which the green party used to care about.

There's no real surprise in this story, for months we've been hearing about resignations, the call for the mayor to step down, the purchase of Debenhams and the plan to sell it at a fraction of the buying price, incompetence and in fighting. I would hope to see many small party and independent candidates in next year's local elections, time for people to stop complaining and be the change they want to see, the legacy parties obviously can't do the job.

To follow up on a post I made last week, someone in management of domino's must have been aware of four of it's drivers using blue badges fraudulently.

Four drivers have been prosecuted for illegally using disabled parking Blue Badges in Bedford town centre – including two Dominos workers who used stolen badges.

With public confidence in the police at an all time low this is even more unacceptable.
People I've spoken to around midland road, commercial road and ashburnham road have spoken to have a low opinion of the police force (not the officers themselves) the lack of a visible force in those areas, the slow response times ect make People I've spoken to are reluctant to even report crime as they often said "what's the point? .
This is not the consensus but many people have said it, I also had people telling me that the community policing is very important and were spoken of highly.
Perhaps the police and crime commissioner could publicly address the above case and reassure people that he will redouble efforts to be more visible and rethink the vetting process.

The real problem here is that prison resources aren't there, we need more prison space because with a fast growing population, more organised criminal groups both domestic and increasingly foreign the need is for more prison space not early releases as we saw last time when prisoners on early releases were on the news saying they had no plan for the immediate future and would most likely end up back there very soon. The priority needs to change instead of this soft touch attitude where criminals know they will not serve a whole sentence and are not deterred from committing offences.

Eighteen offenders are due for early release in Bedfordshire next month as part of a national programme to ease pressure on prison space, a meeting heard.

The whole point is that the current mayor has wasted tax payer money, not spending 375k is a saving but how much more money will be wasted by not having a referendum?
