It's a beautiful morning, the sun is shining and we're open until 3.30 for coffee, light lunches and cake. Lots of cake! Our bear trail is open so if you fancy a quiet hour or so come along, have fun and let your little ones take part and claim their free hot chocolate!

It's back to school time, so it's time for some Bear Hunts for little people! We will run six different hunts during the next few weeks, but this time we need help finding the bear that's living in our wood. His name is Bramble and he's very friendly, just a little bit lost. The clue sheet is just £1.00 per child, and they'll get an Adventure Book to keep a record of all six trails, a certificate for completing each trail plus a special Bear Keepers certificate if they complete all six. Best of all is a free kid's hot chocolate at the end of this trail, if they can whisper the secret word to us!
It's running every day that the tearoom is open, so Wednesday to Sunday inclusive. The first hunt is open now, and will be there until Sunday 27 September, when we'll move on to hunt number two. So if your child wants to complete all six trails, come along soon and join in the Bear Hunt fun!

So, I decided to experiment with our dear little oven here in the Orchard Tearoom, and make a small batch of scones. Fresh out of the oven, Raisin and Lemon, look better in real life than in the photo. Is anyone up for trying one? £3 each with butter.

Good morning, just a reminder that the Orchard Tearoom will be open as usual today, 10.00 - 3.30, but we'll only be doing drinks, cakes, scones, ice creams etc, as the kitchen is closed today. Looking forward to seeing you!

Good morning all, it's me again, wittering on about coffee and, more importantly, cake. This coming Sunday, 16 August, the tearoom will be open as usual, but we will only be selling drinks, cakes, scones and teacakes. Apologies, but we don't have a cook available to run the kitchen that day. Sue

Disappointed today. I bought a dear little kid's kitchen for the tearoom last Sunday - my own money, please note. Yesterday the tap was broken off, it must have taken a bit of force to do. So, why couldn't the parent have just let us know and apologised? Nada. I've got some really fun looking vehicles to be played with, but am now reluctant to put them out. As I said, disappointed. Look at this dear little kitchen - new to the tearoom with lots of things to play with. Rhema and Cara are working today, so please would someone pop in and make sure they're working in the tearoom kitchen, and not just playing with this?! Good morning peeps, I'm off to a school sports day this morning, but just thought I'd share a photo of the lovely new cakes we've got. These are blueberry muffins and carrot cake traybake, and Cara and I can confirm that they are absolutely delicious. If you've got an hour or two spare, please come along over the next few days and see what else is on the cake counter - I do believe lemon drizzle could be there today too.
