In International Control Room week, let's acknowledge the professionalism and contribution of the officers and police staff who answer calls from the publicly swiftly and effectively.

They are at the forefront of keeping our communities safer.

International control room week starts on Monday 🗓️

Every day, control room staff speak to people who may be experiencing some of the most difficult moments of their lives. They provide reassurance, gather vital information and help coordinate the police response when it is needed most.

The week is an opportunity to recognise the professionalism, judgement and dedication of those working in control rooms, supporting members of the public and colleagues across England and Wales.

Join us in remembering those who gave their lives in service to our country, and in honouring the veterans and serving personnel who continue to serve our community and nation.

Residents are invited to attend the following Remembrance services in Luton this November.

🕚 📍 The parade will leave Park Street West at 10.40am, followed by a service at Luton Town Hall at 11am, including wreath-laying at the War Memorial and the two-minute silence.

𝗔𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆 | 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟭 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿

🕚 📍 Join us on the steps of Luton Town Hall shortly before 11am for the Last Post and the two-minute silence.

Everyone is welcome to attend and pay their respects as we remember all those who have served and sacrificed.

Are you passionate about governance, accountability and supporting public services? Bedfordshire Police and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Bedfordshire are seeking to appoint an Independent Member to join the Joint Audit Committee.

The Joint Audit Committee provides independent assurance and scrutiny on governance, risk management, financial reporting, internal control and ethical standards, helping to support transparency and accountability across policing in Bedfordshire.

Encouraging Applications from Women

The Committee currently comprises four male members and one vacancy. To help achieve a more balanced representation, we particularly encourage applications from women, who are currently under-represented on the Committee.

We welcome applications from individuals from all backgrounds and communities. Appointments will be made on merit through a fair, open and transparent recruitment process.

Sadly it exists across Bedfordshire.

We must be alert to modern day slavery and report it to the police or the modern slavery helpline.

On Modern Day Slavery Awareness Day we must recommit to tackling this crime

There is No Place for Hate in Luton nor anywhere. There were some powerful messages from HOPE not hate Luton Council Luton Faiths Luton Irish Forum the local MPs, Stop Hate UK We Are Luton and others.

Every one united in promoting hope and cohesion and rejecting hate in all its ugly forms.
