At the heart of so much we do at Parnham, the Walled Garden inspires everything from our events to what we serve in the restaurant. Open whenever the restaurant is, we encourage you to take a drink and wander before dining with us and see it in bloom!

On Wednesday afternoons we have dedicated time for artists, our cocktail masterclasses forage for botanicals and there’s plenty to explore beyond the walls in one of our guided tours.

All upcoming events and bookings can be found on our website.

Turning a sad moment, the loss of such a beautiful tree into something meaningful for the future is a reflection of the vision at Parnham. It’s yet another example of how the team continue to adapt, think creatively, and look beyond the obvious when it comes to ecology, sustainability, and the future of the estate.

Today, on Dorset Day, we’re celebrating the county that inspires so much of what we do.

From the ingredients that find their way onto our plates in the restaurant, to the colours, stone, antiques, fossils and stories woven throughout the house. Dorset is a constant source of inspiration. Its rolling hills, ancient woodlands, dramatic coastline and rich heritage create a landscape unlike any other.

We are incredibly proud to call Dorset home and to play a part in its story. As Parnham continues its journey of restoration, we hope it will become a place where people gather to celebrate, create memories, connect with nature, and experience the remarkable heritage of this extraordinary county.

Happy Dorset Day from all of us at Parnham.

With over 35 years experience in building conservation and restoration, Andy Bonner has dedicated his career to historic buildings.

Born and raised in Dorset, where he still lives today, Andy trained as a mason locally before progressing to work in the UK and abroad as a master mason and sculptor. He went on to gain a degree and a Master’s in Construction Management from the University of Southampton, followed by a Master’s in Conservation, and held numerous Directorial positions within the UKs best respected heritage conservation organisations.

Before Parnham, Andy has overseen projects for the City of London, The Crown Estate, Historic Royal Palaces and many privately-owned historic estates across the Country, including extensive restoration work at Westminster Abbey and Windsor Castle.

In this video, Andy explains why saving Parnham Park matters so deeply, particularly the nationally important John Nash elements of the house, which form a vital part of Dorset’s architectural and cultural heritage.

Standing proudly at the entrance to the Parnham Restaurant is one of Britain’s rarest native trees, the Black Poplar. 🌳

Once a defining feature of the British landscape, Black Poplars are now critically scarce in the wild, with only around 7,000 remaining across the country. Protecting these remarkable trees takes ongoing dedication, and at Parnham, Nigel and the Gardening Team play an important role in caring for this living piece of natural history.
