The Friends of Holtspur Bank Local Nature Reserve are holding their summer walk on 21 June 2025 at 2.30pm.

This will be a guided walk around both Holtspur Bank and the adjacent Butterfly Reserve, led by group members Brenda Mobbs and Derek Bourne.

The Nature Reserve walks start from the Preschool/Scout building at the Holtspur Top Lane end of Cherry Tree Road. The walks are open to everyone, but, if you are not a member of the Friends, we do ask for a voluntary donation. However, family membership of the Friends is only £5 per year giving you free access for all your family to all of our walks, so you might consider this instead of making a separate donation for each walk you join.

Look forward to seeing you there.

It's nearly time for the annual Rotary Club of Beaconsfield Cheese and Wine.
Always a lovely event and a great chance to have a private viewing of Bekonscot without the crowds and with a delicious glass of wine.

Press Release from Buckinghamshire Council

01 June 2026
New era for parking – Smarter parking enforcement service launches to tackle problem areas across Buckinghamshire

Buckinghamshire Council’s new civil parking enforcement service has launched today (1 June 2026), with APCOA Parking (UK) Limited now delivering operations across the county.

The move supports the council’s Parking Strategy and will deliver a more reliable, consistent service that helps keep streets safe and accessible for residents, businesses and visitors.

Under the new arrangements, APCOA will run an intelligence-led service, with Civil Enforcement Officers deployed where they are most needed and guided by an Enforcement Plan that sets minimum service levels seven days a week. The service combines experienced officers with modern technology to improve coverage and ensure a more responsive approach to local parking issues.

Residents can expect a fully resourced operation designed to respond to local need, with a more visible presence of enforcement officers in areas where parking concerns are most frequently raised, including around schools, town centres and residential streets.

The enforcement rules themselves remain unchanged. The new model focuses on improving consistency, supporting compliance and helping communities tackle ongoing parking pressures.

Steve Bowles, Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities, said:

“Good parking enforcement plays an important role in keeping our roads safe and our communities moving.

“This new parking enforcement service is about responding to what residents and local stakeholders have told us – that parking issues need to be tackled more visibly, consistently and effectively. It is about protecting communities, helping to ensure safe access for emergency services, pedestrians and cyclists – not simply issuing penalties.

“The partnership with APCOA introduces a modern, intelligence-led approach that brings together experienced enforcement officers with new technology, helping target problem areas more effectively and deliver a reliable service countywide.”

He added:

“Parking income supports the wider transport network, including transport services, environmental improvements, parking operations and the upkeep of car parks. That helps us maintain a sustainable service that benefits the whole community.”

Kim Challis, APCOA Regional Managing Director UK&I, commented:

“Effective parking enforcement is about supporting safer, more accessible communities for everyone. Our Civil Enforcement Officers are a visible and important part of the local community, helping residents, businesses and visitors by tackling problem parking in a fair, consistent and approachable way. We are proud to be working in partnership with Buckinghamshire Council to deliver a modern, intelligence-led service that responds to local needs and supports the wider community every day.”

The council continues to work with local communities, schools and businesses to promote responsible parking and raise awareness of the importance of complying with existing regulations.

Residents can find out more or report parking concerns on the council’s website.

Beaconsfield Town councillors Cllr Cook, Cllr Howse, and Cllr Mason were out last week with the Parking Enforcement team from Buckinghamshire Highways .

Buckinghamshire Highways are responsible for the on-street parking and car parks in Beaconsfield, as well as issuing tickets to those who are parked dangerously or illegally.

Our councillors spent an afternoon with the Enforcement Team, asking questions and learning about the issues specific to our town.

Cllr Paul Mason said, 'The Parking Enforcement Team from Buckinghamshire Highways are there to keep our streets safe. Often, illegally parked vehicles are restricting views, especially around zebra crossings, which can pose a danger to our residents and visitors. In an ideal world they wouldn't need to issue any tickets, and that’s what we'd like to see!'
