This week (tomorrow in fact!) Becky High and Butlers Court turn 60 and are coming together on Friday for a 60th birthday party. Today, we started the new school year by singing happy birthday in two very special assemblies led by Ms Bond! Our gorgeous cake – pictured here with our youngest and oldest current student - was created by local baker Emma Smith and will be enjoyed by all staff this week. Students will enjoy their own cupcake on Friday!

Shout to all our Year 11s who opened their GCSE results this morning! Half of all GCSE grades awarded were at Levels 8 and 9, with 23% at the very highest Level 9. Almost three quarters (72%) of all results were Level 7 or above – an increase on 2025 – while 90% were Level 6 or above.

Among the individual achievements, 55 students – almost a third of the entire year group – achieved Levels 8 and 9, while 10% of the cohort achieved Level 9s across their Best 8.

“Of course, I am incredibly proud of these results. Our students have worked hard and they should enjoy every moment of today. But what makes me proudest is the young people standing behind those grades. We want our students to be confident in themselves, to believe in what they can achieve and, importantly, to back themselves. You see that so clearly on a day like today.

Our job is to give young people the support, opportunities and confidence to aim high and then discover what is possible. Seeing them leave Year 11 excited and optimistic about their futures matters every bit as much as the grades they are holding today. I couldn’t be prouder of them.” Ms Bond, Headteacher

Huge congrats to our Year 13s today on a fantastic set of A-Level results! Just under half of all grades awarded at A or A* and 80% of all grades were A – B.

Kitty P and Zoe M-S achieved 4 x A* grades. Kitty is going to the University of Southampton to study Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Zoe will be a taking a gap year.

Notable mentions go to Anna P who achieved 2 x A* in French and Spanish and will study Modern Languages at the University of Cambridge. Her gift for languages and her dedication is captured by the fact she completed her French A-Level in only one year!

Holly C achieved 2 x A* and an A and is going to study Games Design and Art at Wi******er School of Art (part of the University of Southampton) and Scarlett T has earned a place at performing arts school, ArtsEd in London, having starred in numerous productions during her time at Becky High.

80% of students secured their first-choice university place, which for some are the universities of Oxford and Cambridge to read linguistics, natural sciences, modern and medieval languages, history and education. Abigail M will be joining Grant Thornton (a major multinational professional services network providing audit, tax, and advisory services) as an apprentice, rather than taking the traditional university route.

Ms Bond:
“We are incredibly proud of our students and all they have achieved. Nearly half of all grades were awarded at A or A, reflecting not only outstanding academic success but also the determination, resilience and character our students demonstrate every day. Whether heading to Oxbridge, Russell Group universities, specialist arts institutions, apprenticeships or gap-year opportunities, they leave Beaconsfield High School as confident, ambitious young women ready to embrace their futures. Congratulations to every student on their well-deserved success.”

We were incredibly fortunate to secure ballot tickets to attend the Poetry by Heart Grand Finale at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London on Monday. The seven student finalists from our school competition enjoyed an unforgettable trip, with the opportunity to watch the national finalists perform in the stunning setting of the Globe. Special guests included Matt Goodfellow, Kate Wakeling, Alice Oswald, and Frank Cottrell-Boyce.

The experience was both inspiring and memorable, leaving our students enthusiastic about taking part in the 2027 Poetry by Heart competition.

During our recent Enrichment Days, Year 10 students took part in the Community Action Project, a three-day initiative designed to develop key skills beyond the classroom while making a positive contribution to the community.

Working in self-selected teams, students identified a genuine need within the school, Beaconsfield, or the wider local area. They then researched the issue, planned a response, and created a project outcome aimed at making a difference.

The project concluded with each group delivering a presentation to their peers and a judging panel, showcasing both their research and the impact of their work. The projects created were astonishing in both their ambition and scope, positively impacting areas of the community ranging from a local care home to our own Wellbeing Hub and Butler's Court Primary School.
