We have campaigned against any downgrading or closure of the kids ward at St john's hospital. It is outrageous that the outcome of the review is being delayed until after the election on Thursday. We need honest and open representation for the Linlithgow constituency.

What's clear from talking to people in Broxburn tonight is there is a great deal of concern over the potential closure of St John's children's ward. This is a vital public service for people across West Lothian and its closure would be a disaster. If you would like to help the campaign to save St. John's please get in touch.

Scottish Labour will retain the Kids ward at St John's as a 24/7 service. No ifs not buts just a clear commitment that this crucial service will remain.

Today we are campaigning in solidarity with trade unions. This makes me particularly proud as we have al long tradition of active trade unionism In my family and Brendan's. My grandfather would have been standing shoulder to shoulder with me if he was still alive so this one is for him.

Under the SNP there are 152,000 fewer college students in Scotland and too many students who need extra support just can't get it. We will increase the Scottish Funding Council overall resource budget by over £5 million and reverse SNP cuts to bursaries.

We are supporting Angela because we know that she is hard working, respectful and honest. She will work with local people on issues that are important to them and will be an excellent MSP.
