Save Combe Down Allotments
Over the last couple of years, the waiting‑list numbers for Combe Down allotments has understandably fallen, influenced by Bath and North East Somerset Council notice to quit. This alarmingly has resulted in the Council suggesting that there is little interest for allotments on Combe Down!
If you are local and want to register your interest in the hope of persuading the council that there is - and always had been! - a strong desire for allotments in Combe Down, you can apply directly through the Council’s online form so your application is officially recorded:
https://www.bathnes.gov.uk/apply-allotment
Please select Combe Down and Foxhill as your first and second choices (in either order). Doing so will help demonstrate to the Council how important it is for residents to have allotments within walking or wheel‑barrowing distance of their homes.

Use this page to apply for an allotment plot by using our online form.

Bath and North East Somerset Council Bath & North East Somerset Allotment Association Save Combe Down Allotments
After over a year of desperately trying to hang onto our precious allotments at Combe Down, we have received the letter below
From BANES’s Lynda Dean, advising us that they have given up any attempt to negotiate with the land owner on purchasing the land and instead are kindly providing us with skips so we can clear our own plots of sheds and structures and all vegetation. This after leader Kevin Guy PROMISED us at a public meeting that compulsory purchase would be used if necessary to retain the land for allotment holders. We have been informed that the council had the land valued and offered to purchase it at that price but the offer was refused. What is now stopping the compulsory purchase at that price? You need to now engage with us as a group, not send out individual letters of proclamation, to discuss how you are going to now deliver on your promises… PLEASE
