Bleed kits have been proven to save lives. In a serious trauma situation, it can take as little as 4 minutes for a person to lose a critical amount of blood.

Lib Dem Councillors Alison Born and Stuart Bridge have used their ward empowerment fund to support the Bloomfield Bath Residents' Association with the installation of this bleed kit on Bloomfield Road.

In an emergency, always call 999 first. The operator will direct you to the nearest bleed kit and guide you through the steps needed to help save a life.

Fashion Museum Bath reaches key milestone

With planning permission recently granted by B&NES Council, the Lib Dem administration’s ambitious flagship project to build a world-class museum in the city centre is proceeding from vision to delivery.

Fashion Museum Bath will be the new home of one of the world’s greatest fashion collections, in what will be one of the UK’s most ambitious cultural projects. Lib Dem Councillor Paul Roper, Cabinet Member for Economic & Cultural Sustainable Development, B&NES Council, said:

“Securing planning permission for Fashion Museum Bath is a landmark moment for our city. This project is much more than a new museum: it is a transformative investment in Bath’s cultural future, bringing new life to historic buildings, creating inspiring spaces for learning and creativity, and ensuring that this world class collection can be enjoyed by generations to come. It is what our city, our local authority and the West of England region deserve.”

With about 250,000 visitors expected each year, Fashion Museum Bath will strengthen the area’s cultural economy, supporting skills, learning and creativity, and further reinforce Bath’s international reputation as a hub for heritage, culture and the creative industries.

B&NES Council has pledged £20 million to support the new Museum which is anticipated to cost £39 million. The West of England Combined Mayoral Authority granted initial funding of £1.75 million this year, building on a previous grant of £1.5 million. The National Lottery Heritage Fund has also supported the project with funding of £768,000 to progress plans for the museum’s development. Construction for Fashion Museum Bath is expected to start in winter 2027, ahead of its target opening date of December 2030.

“We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: Bristol airport is big enough.”
That’s the message from Lib Dem Councillors, who highlighted opposition to the airport’s latest expansion application. This would see capacity expanded to 15 million passenger journeys per year – up from the current 10.8 million.
Residents in the area will be impacted by increased pollution, traffic on unsuitable roads, and noise (including from over 1000 more night flights per year) if the expansion is allowed, Cllr Paul May explained.
Even without expansion, there’s a need for more sustainable travel options, as the vast majority of passengers currently travel to and from the airport by car.
And growth in airport capacity is “fundamentally incompatible with the UK’s legally binding net zero obligations, as well as with our own local democratically agreed climate and ecological emergency commitments”, said Cllr Sarah Warren.
B&NES Council has repeatedly opposed airport expansion including through cross-party resolutions and via the planning process. The Councillors called on all B&NES and Parish Councillors as well as residents to respond to the application, which is currently live on North Somerset’s website.

Nigel Farage takes his orders from Donald Trump and his cash from Elon Musk and another bitcoin tycoon.

The Democrats have a plan to put an end to foreign influence in our democracy.

Time Out has named Bath one of the world’s top 50 cities for 2026.

Bath was at the top of several categories in this year’s survey, receiving the highest score for community feel, with 86 percent of locals saying they feel a sense of belonging in the city. And it's welcoming - it was rated the easiest place to make friends and meet new people out of all cities surveyed, according to 76 percent of locals. Finally, with a massive 94 percent approval score, it’s the best city on the list for green space and nature.

Councillor Kevin Guy, leader of B&NES Council said, "While many of us already know how special Bath is, it’s fantastic to see our city recognised internationally for its culture, heritage, creativity and quality of life. This recognition belongs to everyone who helps make Bath vibrant, welcoming and forward‑looking."

We polled thousands of locals to rank the world’s greatest cities. Ready?
