Nitrogen dioxide is harmful to our health, particularly to our most vulnerable residents and visitors, such as children and those with existing heart and lung conditions.

To help reduce pollution, consider walking, wheeling or cycling on short journeys and taking the Park and Ride or train into the city.

Bathโ€™s Clean Air Zone is continuing to help improve air quality across the city. Since March 2019, weโ€™ve seen a 40% reduction in nitrogen dioxide levels inside the zone and over 900 vehicles have been upgraded or replaced with council support.

We continue to monitor air quality across Bath and North East Somerset. To help maintain air quality improvements, please consider walking, wheeling, cycling or using public transport when travelling into the city.

Today is Clean Air Day โ€“ the largest air pollution campaign organised by Global Action Plan.

Even though we often canโ€™t see it, air pollution is linked to a range of health problems at every stage of our lives โ€“ from worsening heart conditions to triggering asthma attacks.

Children, pregnant women and people with chronic health conditions are disproportionately affected.

By improving our air, we can all benefit from immediate and lasting health improvements, and help ensure that future generations can live happier, healthier lives.

Today (May 21) is National Idling Awareness day.

To mark this, we are raising awareness of the impact that idling has on the health of those around you.

Nitrogen dioxide pollution caused by vehicle emissions can worsen heart and lung conditions, reduce children's lung development and worsen asthma.

Please consider turning off your engine when you are queuing in a stationary vehicle.

โš ๏ธ Charges are ยฃ9 or ยฃ100 depending on your vehicle type.โ

There are three Park & Ride services into Bath:

Extra services will be running during the Christmas Market, with buses every five minutes throughout the day.

Mon-Sat, every five minutes 9:30am to 8:30pm ๐Ÿ•ฃ Last service 9pm.
Sunday, every five minutes 9:30am to 6:00pm ๐Ÿ•• Last service 7pm.
