My friends son is doing his Duke of Edinburgh award, part of that is doing work within the community.
Where better than a community allotment project that supplies a food bank!
I can be a useful person to know at times…….
We work with groups big or small, young or old, if you have a group that would like to do some outdoor activities send me a message.
The project does not charge, but donations are always helpful. Donations don’t have to be money too, seeds and compost are always welcome.
Happy Saturday 💚

Next job, fixing the fruit cage netting. At this point in its life, it’s looking more like a patchwork quilt.

After all that pruning. It was time to get it on the trailer. I keep the good bits.
Long straight bits for canes and fencing.
Big chunky bits for wildlife habitats and burning.
Elder cuttings to keep my wood ear fungus production going.
If I had a chipper, I wouldn’t need to put it in the trailer and could use the chipping on site. But alas, I don’t, you can’t have it all…….
Happy Thursday 💚

I’m back!!
I’ve always been on site, but the whole social media thing fell to the way side.
So here’s the first sowings of the year on site. Onions
I’m fed up with buying bulbs, they go to flower to quickly. This year I will try from seed instead.
Happy Tuesday.

Hi all,
As the project is in these areas, I have been asked to share this.
P**p left around of any description is disgusting. Not just if you walk in it, but the health risk it poses to other animals, including humans. It also has an environmental impact.
So please pick it up.
Happy Wednesday 💚💩

The council has noticed an increase in dog fouling in the local area, particularly in:

• Sherbourne Road
• Kingsclere Road
• Lancaster Road
• Tavener close open space
• Freemantle Close
• Bedstone Road
• Silvester Close
• Westray Close

This is unpleasant for residents, especially children who are using our open spaces to play.

Community safety patrol officers are working to tackle this, but they need your help.

Please tell the council if you see dog fouling taking place or see individuals failing to clean up after a dog.

Incidents should be reported to the Community Safety Patrol Officers (CSPOs) or the dog warden. You can contact them online https://www.basingstoke.gov.uk/report-dog-fouling , by phoning 01256 844844 or by emailing [email protected]

There is a borough-wide dog fouling Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) in place. Under this order:

• It is an offence to not pick up after your dog in public places.
• Dog owners must carry a means to clean up after their dog (such as a bag) and produce it when challenged by an authorised officer.

Failure to comply with the order may result in a fine or further enforcement action.

Together, we can ensure our public spaces remain enjoyable for all residents and visitors.
