If you want to recycle more plastic – it’s now easier.

There are now mixed plastic recycling banks at our six council-owned recycling sites. Just lift the flap on the top of the bank to add your clean and empty items.

Seen a padlock? Don't worry, the bank isn't locked. The padlock is there to stop fly-tipping and keep other waste out, helping ensure the plastic inside can be recycled.

Welcome to the first of September, and the very first of autumn!

This Friday (4 September) marks National Wildlife Day, a special occasion celebrated twice a year because wildlife deserves more than just one day of recognition, and we certainly agree!

The day helps to highlight the importance of protecting the natural world for future generations and an opportunity to reflect on the conservation work already taking place and to consider the positive difference each of us can make in our own communities.

So why not get involved?

Conservation volunteering is a fantastic way to help restore and care for habitats across the borough while connecting with nature and like-minded people. If you'd like to find out more, visit the link in the comments below.

If you are unable to volunteer, why not visit one of the borough’s green spaces and take some photos of the local wildlife and share your images with us below.

Are you or is someone you know looking to improve balance and strength to avoid falls?

We’ve teamed up with Hampshire County Council to deliver low cost, pay-as-you-go Steady and Strong Classes around the borough.

The classes have been developed for older adults to increase strength and balance, helping you to stay stronger for longer so that you can keep doing the things you love.

Classes are running at Popley Fields Community Association Oakridge Hall for All and Tadley Health & Fitness Centre
