Camrose Centre for Homeless and Vulnerably Housed People's dry food store is running low and it needs our help.

The centre cooks fresh, home-made lunches six days a week for people who are homeless or vulnerably housed, but it is desperately short of jars and packets of sauce to keep it going. If you're able to donate, you can drop items in during any of sessions at Glebe Hall, Church Square (behind Church Cottage), Basingstoke, RG21 7QW:

Monday: 2pm to 4.30pm
Tuesday: 10am to 2pm
Wednesday: 11am to 1pm
Thursday: 10am to 2pm
Friday: 10am to 12.30pm
Sunday: 12 noon to 3pm

Each and every donation makes such a difference to those in need.

Some of the most valuable support in Basingstoke and Deane is given in hours, not pounds.

Local charities working with people who are homeless or struggling are always glad of an extra pair of hands, whether that's serving meals, sorting donations, befriending, or sharing a skill you already have. A couple of hours a month genuinely makes a difference.

When someone's sleeping rough, most of us want to do something. But the kindest thing you can give isn't always loose change.

Real Change offers another way to help. Your donation goes to the local charities and services supporting people who are homeless in Basingstoke and Deane, funding food, shelter, expert advice and a route into a permanent home. It's coordinated, specialist support, which means your generosity works towards lasting change rather than just today.

Looking for a bit of company and a good cuppa? β˜• Chat About runs on Mondays from 11am to 1pm at Basingstoke Discovery Centre & Overton Library - Hampshire County Council, and everyone is welcome.

It's simply coffee, conversation and friendly faces. No need to book, no cost to worry about, just pop along and say hello. If you know someone who'd enjoy meeting new people, why not bring them too?

When we think about rough sleeping, we picture cold nights. But summer brings its own dangers. Heat, dehydration and sunburn are serious risks for people sleeping outside and, with fewer people thinking about homelessness at this time of year, help can be harder to come by.

If you're worried about someone sleeping rough in Basingstoke and Deane, you can let outreach services know via StreetLink . It takes a couple of minutes and connects that person to local support.
