Martyn's Law guidance for businesses

New guidance was published back in April to support major venues and events to be better equipped to protect the public from terrorism.

The guidance sets out clear steps for businesses. This includes for smaller premises like shops and restaurants with 200-799 people, to ensure evacuation routes are in place, staff know how to swiftly implement a lockdown in their building, and staff know how to quickly communicate with their customers were an attack to occur.

🌱 Calling local independent businesses to get involved in Basingstoke Green Week ! 🌱

returns for its 14th year from Saturday 6 June to Sunday 14 June, with free activities and events celebrating local action to protect nature and tackle climate change across the borough.

Small independent businesses are invited to get involved in a way that works for them – for example by running a staff activity, offering a Green Week deal, hosting something simple in‑store or online or sharing a small sustainable change they’re proud of.

Taking part and sharing it on social media is a great way to join the wider Basingstoke Green Week conversation and show support for local people and nature.

Whether you own a business or not, everyone’s invited to get involved in the free activities being held for Basingstoke Green Week. Find out more and see the full programme over on the Sustainable Basingstoke website at sustainable-basingstoke.co.uk/

Personal development isn’t just a “nice to have” — it’s good for business too.

When people feel supported to learn and grow, it can boost confidence, motivation and long term retention.

Last year we shared a guest blog from local business, exploring what personal development is and why it’s important.
