💛📚 Happy Empathy Day! 📚💛

Today we’re celebrating the 2026 Read for Empathy collection, created by EmpathyLab in partnership with the National Year of Reading campaign.

The collection features 65 carefully selected books for children and young people aged 3–16+, chosen for their power to help readers understand different perspectives, build connections, and develop empathy through stories. (EmpathyLabUK)

Many of the titles are available through your local library. Search our catalogue, reserve your favourites, and discover a story that helps you step into someone else’s shoes.

Huge congratulations to the team at the Penarth Pier Pavilion on winning the Heritage, Arts & Culture Award at the Bro Radio Community Awards 🎉

A truly well-deserved recognition for a place that does so much to celebrate local heritage, champion the arts, and bring culture to the heart of our community. From exhibitions and events to preserving one of Penarth’s most iconic spaces, the Pavilion continues to inspire and connect people across the Vale. Here’s to many more successes ahead!
