Shared Lives is a growing family of support that enables people to live life to the full in their communities without having to live alone or in residential care. If you've always wanted to get in to social care but never been sure if you had the time or the support, then Shared Lives may be for you - you can work around your own life, family and commitments, and receive a generous allowance from

We work closely with this service to put events on regularly and have supported people within the service too - we are all very excited to hear them sing their hearts out!

Another pop up today in Ulverston at the Ulverston Market (indoor). Dropping by for some bits from the wonderful stalls here? 💙 Out and About Shouting About Shared Lives! 💙

Robyn had a fantastic time yesterday shouting about Shared Lives at StoreHouse —a brilliant food bank project run by Influence church 🏡✨
This amazing project works hard to support and meet the needs of the local community, and it was a great opportunity to connect with people and hear their stories 💬

It’s always inspiring to see communities coming together and making a difference 💙

As part of Shared Lives Week, Katie* is shouting about Shared Lives because it’s helped her reconnect with the things she enjoys.

When Katie was introduced to Shared Lives Westmorland & Furness by her social worker, she wasn't sure what to expect. She hadn't been getting out much and wondered whether it might help.

Just two months later, she says it's already making a difference.

With support from her Shared Lives carer, Katie now attends a weekly painting class and is doing something she loves.

"It's helped me build confidence, get out of the house and back to creating again. Having a Shared Lives carer makes going out feel easier, just knowing they are there."

She's now thinking about other places she'd like to visit and new experiences she'd like to try.

Throughout Shared Lives Week, we're sharing stories like Katie's to help more people understand Shared Lives and encourage people to ‘tell one person’ about it.

Had an amazing time speaking about Shared Lives and everything it has to offer. It was fantastic to connect and network with other services, as well as meet so many members of the community. Days like today really highlight the power of collaboration and support!
