For those who missed it, Live Music Now have now released the video for our HSHAZ Anthem "When We've Finished at the Wireworks", written from peoples' memories of Duke St and the wider town. A big thank you to Maz O'Connor and Jorgie Wilson for putting it together through workshops with Risedale Care Home and George Hastwell School, and all the other acts that performed on the day!

Works are starting this week on improvements to Duke Street. The finished scheme will include trees, planting and new furniture to make the street a more pleasant place to be. Works are part of the wider HSHAZ scheme to repair buildings on the street and deliver cultural events.

Works are anticipated to last 18 weeks with temporary lights installed at the Cavendish St junction this week.

Temporary suspension of parking bays will be commencing from 17th October and moving up the road in phases between the Cavendish St junction and Ramsden Sq. Bus stops outside TNT Records and Forrester's Solicitors will also be temporarily suspended during the works.

Existing hard paving in front of buildings is largely unaffected so there will be minimal disruption and businesses will remain open throughout the works.

HSHAZ works are funded through Historic England, Barrow Borough Council and Barrow BID
