👋GOOD NEWS FOR RENTERS

Millions of renters are soon to better off with the government announcing a boost to housing support ❗❗❗

Around 1.6 million private renters are set to receive a substantial boost to their housing support in April 2024, as the Government lays legislation to increase Local Housing Allowance (LHA).

Key Facts:

👉New Local Housing Allowance rates to come into force in April as legislation being laid in parliament.

👉£7 billion investment over the next five years means 1.6 million private renters on Universal Credit or Housing Benefit will be around £800 better off a year.

👉This comes as the national insurance cut comes into effect meaning households with two average earners will save nearly £1,000 per year.

👉The boost will benefit some of the poorest families on either Universal Credit or Housing Benefit who will gain around £800 a year on average.

For many, the start of the new year means a start of a new adventure. Lots of new dreams and new achievements to strive towards as well as fulfilling ambitions and ticking things off bucket lists.

For some, you may have had some really good memories from 2023, but what gets us excited is we can't predict the future and we never know what the new year will bring for us.

Remember a new year is like a blank book. The pen is in your hands. It is your chance to write a beautiful story for yourself. We hope that the new year will be full of positivity for you.

For most young adults, taking their first steps towards independence is both liberating and exciting. However, young people in care have already faced adversity and then face extra barriers to independent living when they leave the care system.

Making sure they have the right support at this critical time in their life is vital !!!

As we move ever closer to the new year, let's help as many people as we can take that first step to a brighter future.

Cumbria Community Homes provides good quality accommodation to vulnerable adults in the community meeting their individual needs.

Our underpinning ethos is to develop an individual’s capacity to live independently in the community and to develop or sustain basic life skills needed to hold down a tenancy or maintain a home.

We work with people who are:

👉Suffering with Physical health issues

For many, this Friday will mark your last working day of 2023. There will be others though who due to the nature of their job role will continue to work over the festive period.

Whatever your job role, we hope that you manage to enjoy some time with your family this festive period.

Make sure that you use this time to do whatever you feel fitting but ensure that you also have some 'you' time !!!
