🌟 Volunteers’ Week Spotlight 🌟

First up in our Volunteer Manager & Co-ordinator spotlight series, we’re celebrating the amazing Charlotte Fleetwood from Devon Air Ambulance Trust 🚁💚

Charlotte and her team support over 600 FABULOUS volunteers who help make the lifesaving work of Devon Air Ambulance possible.

When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Charlotte shared:

💬 “Definitely the people. I meet volunteers from all walks of life, all with their own reasons for volunteering, but everyone comes together to help save lives. I’m lucky to meet some of the kindest people who give up their time simply because they want to do something good for their community.”

Charlotte also highlighted how important Volunteers’ Week is in recognising the incredible impact volunteers make:

💬 “I don’t think volunteers always realise just how appreciated they are or the significance of their impact, so Volunteers’ Week is a lovely chance to say THANK YOU and recognise everything they do.”

When asked what she finds most rewarding, Charlotte said:

💬 “I love seeing people grow in confidence, support each other, become friends, and sometimes go on to find paid work. Seeing that journey is really special. It honestly never feels like a job - it’s something I genuinely enjoy and look forward to every day.”

Charlotte is such an asset to the Volunteer Management community in North Devon and is always on hand to support others, share best practice and her wealth of experience.

🌊 Do you have old photos or memories of the North Devon coastline? 📸

On 8th June from 12.30pm–2.00pm, The Woodyard UK is hosting a very special FREE community workshop with the Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA), exploring how our coastline from Saunton to Westward Ho! has changed over the last 100 years.

✨ Stories and memories
✨ Knowledge of the local coastline and community history

This is a wonderful opportunity to help preserve local heritage and share memories of places that have changed over time.

Anyone who preregisters for the workshop can also attend the Mindful Monday session beforehand FREE of charge (please bring proof of registration). The MOLA team will also provide hot drinks during the workshop ☕️

Also attending on the day will be Sammy Antell, Volunteer Connector for North Devon Voluntary Services (NDVS), who will be available to chat about all things volunteering and how you can get more involved in your local community💜
