🌿 South Area Caretaker Team – Weekly Round-Up 🌿

Whatever the weather – wind, rain or shine – our South Area Caretaker Team has been hard at work keeping our communities looking their best. 💚

This week we’ve been:�🌱 Strimming�🚜 Cutting and mowing�🌳 Mulching�🍂 Blowing pathways clear�🗑️ Litter picking�🤝 Supporting volunteer sessions�🚤 Helping clear our local canal

From cemeteries and car parks to play areas, green spaces and residential neighbourhoods, our team has been out every day making a positive difference across the South Area.

A huge thank you to our volunteers and residents who continue to take pride in their local environment. Working together helps create cleaner, greener and safer spaces for everyone to enjoy.

We’re proud to serve our communities and will continue to work hard to keep our shared spaces looking their best.

💚 Together, we’re making the South Area a place we can all be proud to call home.

In this video, they take you to one of Hoyland's hidden gems, Owd' Martha's Yard.

Today we said a fond farewell to all the dedicated volunteers and residents who have attended the Wombwell Community Luncheon Club over the years.
Thank you for all your hard work and commitment to the community. 🥰

🌿 Volunteers Needed – Darfield Bridle Path Tidy! 🌿
We’re looking for volunteers to help tidy up the tiled pathway off Doncaster Road in Darfield 🧹
Join us as we continue caring for this historic route. Tasks will include:
✅ Litter picking along the path
✅ Scraping back mud to help expose the original tiles
It’s a great way to get outdoors, meet new people, and make a real difference in your local area 💬🌱
📅 Wednesday 17 June
⏰ 9am – 11am
📍 Doncaster Road (opposite Park Hill)
All help is appreciated – whether you can stay for the full session or just pop by for a bit!

🌿💚 Another productive day for the South Area Caretaker Team in Birdwell in The Rockingham Ward! 💚🌿

Despite the ever challenging weather, the team have been out making a real difference across the community.
Today’s work has included strimming, mowing, scraping, blowing, grubbing out weeds, and cutting back overgrown vegetation to help keep our neighbourhoods looking clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone.💪

Their dedication and hard work, whatever the conditions, show a genuine commitment to taking pride in our local environment and improving the spaces that residents use every day.✅

A huge thank you to the team for their continued efforts and to our residents for their ongoing support.🌱👏

🌿 Busy days, great results! 🌿

The South Area Caretaker Team have had a productive couple of days working across the Darfield, Great Houghton and Wombwell wards, tackling the ever-changing weather head-on👍

Despite the conditions, the team have been hard at work cutting, strimming, mulching and blowing to help keep our neighbourhoods looking their best for everyone to enjoy✅

As well as the green work a large amount of litter has been picked and removed from the streets along with fly tip reported to BMBC for removal💪

A huge thank you to the team for their dedication, hard work and commitment to maintaining our local communities. Every job completed makes a real difference, and we’re proud to play our part in creating cleaner, greener and more welcoming spaces for residents❤️

Here’s to continuing the great work—whatever the weather brings! 🌱
