A massive "THANK YOU" to everyone taking part in Barnoldswick's Galactic Ice Trail yesterday.

Sculptors from Glacial Arts outdid themselves with the brilliant Star Wars themed carvings.

Steve and Harry from Cecil Green Arts excelled as Jedi Masters, and in the Death Star fire-fight finale.

Members of the Imperial Alliance, Mandalorians, Ewoks et al travelled from across the galaxy to join us.

And The Rambling Astronomer Martin Lunn journeyed through the Solar System with his enthralling talks.

Even the planets came out to play in the evening sky.

Thank you to the local sponsors helping to make the Ice Trail such a great event: Barnfield Construction; Dales Subaru; Filtrox; Hope Tech; and Silentnight.

And thank you to the staff and volunteers at the town council, all the volunteers with the Library Friends group and Hope Churches Together at Holy Trinity, and the Barlick Yarn Fairies!

Most of all, thank you to everyone who came along and took part in the trail and all the activities!

The town council's next event is Wizarding Magic on 22nd February.

Picture shows sculptors Mat Challoner and Mat Foster onstage with their carvings and Chris from Glacial Arts.

The sculptures will melt away on the Town Square over the next few days.

Detailed programme of what's on and where this coming Saturday in Barnoldswick.

At present, the forecast is for perfect conditions for the FREE Ice Trail: dry, gentle breeze, sunny, but cool enough to keep the ice from melting.

Fingers crossed, it'll even be clear enough for the Star Party in the early evening at Letcliffe Park!

As well as the activities listed on the programme, there are children's rides on Albert Road throughout the day.

The Force is with us for Saturday!

Storm Eowyn is set to gallop across the country on Friday, and another storm is set to follow soon after, but Barnoldswick's Ice Trail is set to have gentle breezes and sunny intervals.

The town council has published a detailed map showing activities and locations of sculptures for Saturday's FREE event.

The Town Square will host live ice-carving and the interactive carving wall where visitors can have-a-go themselves.

The Creators' Market and children's rides will surround the square, with ice sculptures around the wider town centre and at Holy Trinity Church.

The church will be one of half-a-dozen indoor venues with craft and other activities.

Friends of Barnoldswick Library are hosting The Rambling Astronomer, Yoda Ears & Chewbacca crafting and a treasure hunt at the library.

You can journey through the universe at the Rainhall Centre, with serene projections of space telescope images with ethereal music accompaniment.

The Frank Street Centre will be a Jedi temple, with training in light sabres from masters of the Force.

Costumed character selfies and Galactic crafting takes place at the Civic Hall. Visitors with their own costumes can take part in a Parade on the Town Square.

Children completing the Ice Trail will receive small Galactic 'Lego' characters (while stocks last!).

A Death Star fire-fight finale will round off the day on the Town Square and, weather willing, there'll be a Star Party at Letcliffe Park, with naked-eye views of the four brightest planets in the evening sky.

Hard-copies of the map and a timed programme of activities are available in shops and businesses and are being delivered by pupil post through local schools.

It's going to be an out-of-this-world experience not to be missed!
