Join a castle tour where prized artworks and the library’s 4,000 volumes reveal the Irvine family’s remarkable story, from Jacobite connections to Romantic artists.

🌳🏃‍♀️ Free to enter, Little Oaks Natural Play offers an acre of shaped felled trees and sculptures for all the family to swing, climb, jump and run.

Then follow the trails into the Old Wood of Drum. Once part of Robert the Bruce’s royal hunting forest, it’s now one of Scotland’s few surviving medieval wood pastures. Listen to leaves crunch underfoot as dense birch woodland gives way to open glades beneath the ancient oaks.

🍰 Complete your autumn adventure in Drum’s old castle kitchen, now a cosy tearoom serving warming lunches, speciality hot drinks and home-baked treats.

🕙 The castle, tearoom and walled garden are open Thursday to Monday until 1 November, then Thursday to Sunday during the winter months.
Little Oaks Natural Play is free to enter and open daily until 1 November. All children must be supervised.
The estate and Old Wood of Drum are open daily from dawn to dusk.

Will visitors please note that the Walled Garden will be temporarily closed to public access from Monday 14th to Friday 18th September.

This is for major ground work operations where we are removing the hedges as per our plans for the future arrangement of the gardens – as outlined here:

As gardens evolve over time, we have to account for history and new climate challenges.

🎃👻 It’s official… Halloween is coming back to Drum Castle! 👻🎃

We’re very excited to announce that our Halloween Trail is returning this October for a few days of spooky family fun around the castle grounds! 🏰🍂

And there’s a little something extra this year… for the first time ever, we’ll be opening on Halloween itself! 🎃

We’re keeping a few spooky surprises under wraps for now… more details coming soon! 👀🕷️

𓇢𓆸 Come along to one of our special creative workshops to learn about – and build your own! – 3D paper seeds.

In 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 - 𝟯𝗗 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿-𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗮𝗼𝗺𝗶 𝗠𝗰𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘀𝗵, held in collaboration with the Ash Rise exhibition, Naomi will guide classes in understanding how ash seeds spin, glide and float before putting these lessons to practical use.
