Congratulations to everyone who took part in The Summer Reading Challenge 2026: Read to the Beat!

Well done to all the children who signed up, read books, collected rewards and joined in with library activities this summer. If you haven't quite finished yet, there's still time to complete your Challenge. Just visit your local library.

The Summer Reading Challenge website is available all year round, with activities, book recommendations and reading fun. Don't forget to try the Book Sorter, a great way for children to discover new books recommended by other children.

Free, fun-filled Play & Learn summer sessions in Banbury!

📅 Wednesdays: 5 August and 26 August, 10am – 12 noon
📍 Banbury Children and Family Centre

Through play, little ones can explore, discover and learn at their own pace while building confidence, creativity and key early development skills. From messy play and sensory activities to storytelling, songs and imaginative play, there's something to bring smiles to every child’s face.

Make new friends, meet other local families and pick up ideas on how you can help your child learn at home.

The Family Hub team will also be on hand to give advice on everything from pregnancy and local baby groups to parenting advice, child development support and help with everyday challenges.
