Good news! After several months of pressure from the Parish Council, the 30mph playground sign near the Village Green (which came down last December) has been replaced.

One small snag: The contractors failed to reattach the bin to the post. We have officially logged this with Warwickshire County Council and are pushing for a quick resolution.
We will keep you posted!

An Update on Our War Memorial Refurbishment

The War Memorial is currently undergoing a professional cleaning. While the Parish Council commissioned this work, the team arrived a day ahead of schedule—catching us slightly off guard before we could formally announce it!

We want to reassure residents that the team on-site is highly qualified and fully authorised to work on this Grade II listed structure. Because of its protected status, we originally expected this project to take years of saving to avoid a spike in the precept.
However, thanks to our Parish Clerk’s links with councils in Oxfordshire, we secured the services of Oxfordshire Military Grave Restorers. Led by veteran Steve Davies, this incredible team consists of BRAMM-qualified (British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons) professionals who volunteer their time and labour for free with the council only paying for their costs including transport and equipment.

The project is being funded via a £700 grant from County Councillor Chris Mills and £494 from the Community Infrastructure Levy (funds specifically earmarked for village enhancement), ensuring no direct impact on the precept.
We are immensely grateful to Steve’s team, and Cllr Mills for making this refurbishment possible years ahead of schedule. The team will return tomorrow to continue work; please note that the final lime pointing is weather-dependent and may be delayed if it rains.
