An evil man who should never walk our streets again. In truth no sentence is long enough for a man who murdered an entirely innocent woman and unborn child. My thoughts are with the family and friends of Natalie McNally who have been through unimaginable grief and anguish.

BREAKING: Stephen McCullagh, who was unanimously found guilty of strangling, stabbing and beating his pregnant partner Natalie McNally to death in 2022, has been sentenced to 31 years for the 'brutal and frenzied attack' https://www.itv.com/news/utv/2026-06-03/natalie-mcnallys-former-partner-sentenced-to-31-years-for-her-murder

Delighted to be invited by the John and Pat Hume Foundation to deliver a keynote address at this event tomorrow at the Institute of International and European Affairs in Dublin.

I'll be speaking on "Peace is No Longer Enough: Delivering Prosperity and Opportunity for All in Northern Ireland", setting out my vision for how we can build on the foundations of peace to create greater prosperity, opportunity and ambition for everyone in Northern Ireland.

I look forward to what I am sure will be an engaging and thought-provoking discussion๐Ÿค

Every case represents someone seeking help, and we're proud to provide support and representation on the issues that matter most.

๐Ÿ›ด I have submitted a Written Question to the Minister of Justice regarding the growing use of privately owned e-scooters in public spaces across Northern Ireland, and whether further legislation or guidance is needed to clarify their legal status and safe use.

โš ๏ธ This follows the recent incident in Cullybackey in which a young child required emergency surgery after a collision involving an e-scooter.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ With concerns growing about the safety of both riders and pedestrians, particularly as we head into the summer months, it is important that the public has clear information about the law and the risks associated with e-scooter use.

๐Ÿ“‹ I look forward to hearing the Ministerโ€™s assessment and what further action may be considered to improve public safety.

Today I had a very useful engagement with representatives from NIPSA.

We discussed a range of important issues including the budget, public sector pay and the proposed Good Jobs Bill.

Trade unions play a vital role in any functioning democracy, and it is important that there is meaningful engagement with those representing workers across our public services.

At short notice, I have also scheduled a meeting tomorrow at Stormont with the leaders of the teachersโ€™ unions to discuss the Education Inspections Bill, and I appreciate that all have agreed to attend.

Listening to those directly affected by legislation is essential if we are to get policy and scrutiny right.

A great day at the Ballymena show.

Well done to Ballymena Academyโ€™s Samantha Dunlop & Kate McNeilly who are finalists in the prestigious 2026 ABP Angus Youth Challenge.

Always great to see the guide dogs too who were in great form. What a vital and faithful service they provide to the visually impaired.

After a long week it was also good to find out my blood pressure was just fine ! Thank you to Katie and Eileen who staffed the Family Farm Health Check van -the whole team do wonderful work. We need to look after our farming families.

I was delighted to meet the great people at Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary. They rescue animals who have been abused and neglected and I thanked them for their important work.

Well done to everyone involved in making the event a success. Great people, great event.
