This week the team have been at the Freshers Fayres at Ayr College and Kilmarnock College, chatting to lots of lovely people about volunteering with Bfriend 💙

It was great to meet so many students and tell them a bit about what we do and the difference a befriender can make to a child or young person.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat, asked questions or signed up to find out more, it was lovely to meet you all!

We’re always looking for good people who can give a wee bit of their time, have some fun and be that constant person in a young person’s life.

Sometimes they don’t even know why they’re feeling or acting the way they do, which makes it all the harder to understand what they’re going through. But there are things you can do to help.

There have been quite a few changes at Bfriend over the last few months, and we now have our lovely new team in place. So we thought it was about time we properly introduced ourselves!

What a brilliant day we had at our Picnic in the Park Fun Day at Rozelle! ☀️🌳

The sun showed up, lunch was demolished, games were played, and we had what may well have been the best scavenger hunt Rozelle has ever seen. 😂

There was also a very calm and not-at-all competitive game of rounders… although Aaron and Morgan may disagree. Safe to say neither of them appeared to understand the words “just for fun” once the game started. 🤣

We even had a tiny interloper, who popped along and seemed quite happy to be part of the Bfriend Crew for the day.

A huge thank you to all of our young people and volunteers who came along and made the day what it was. It was just what we wanted; relaxed, fun, lots of laughs and a chance for everyone to spend some time together.

Already looking forward to the next one. 💛

Feeling a little bored at home this summer? Wishing you were out in the sunshine, no doom scrolling just new adventures, getting creative and making new friends?

Come along to our Summer Woodland Youth Clubs at Auchincruive!

Thanks to the generous support of South Ayrshire Youth Council, these sessions are fully funded and packed full of outdoor adventure:

🌿 Monday 27th July – Foraging & Fire Cooking
🏹 Monday 3rd August – Archery & Axe Throwing
🪵 Monday 10th August – Whittling & Wood Carving
🌱 Monday 17th August – Willow Weaving

🕐Times: 1pm-3.30pm
📍 Location: Acorn Adventures Forest School Outdoor Learning Centre, Auchincruive- on the Number 43/43A bus route

There is absolutely no pressure to take part in every activity—just come along, give it a go and spend some time outdoors. You never know, you might discover a new hobby or make some great new friends!

Book onto individual days or join us for all four sessions via our website. We kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations so that no funded spaces go unfilled.

Our hope is to build a fantastic group of young people and kickstart our Woodland Outdoor Adventure Youth Programme for Autumn 2026.

This week we're celebrating the incredible volunteers who give their time and kindness to support young people across South Ayrshire.

Every phone call, every outing, every conversation and every hour given helps a young person feel seen, valued and supported.

Our volunteers don't just give their time, they build confidence, create memories, provide stability and help young people discover just how much they're capable of.
