We are incredibly proud of how well our students have adapted during our first week as a phone-free school.

Across the school, we have already noticed improvements in focus and attention, social interaction, and the calmness of transitions.

Of course, we know that positive changes across the school are the result of many different factors. However, we have no doubt that becoming a phone-free school has contributed to creating a calmer, more focused environment for our students.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to our parents and carers. The support for this change has been overwhelmingly positive, and your backing has made its introduction considerably easier for both students and staff.

We hope that some families may also be beginning to notice positive differences beyond the school day.

A fantastic start — and a huge well done to our students for embracing the change so positively. 👏

🏨 Behind the scenes in hospitality!

On 20 July, Mr Edwards took a group of our Year 11 students to The Cumberland Hotel in London to discover what goes into running a major hotel.

Students met manager Lucia, who explained her role and the hotel’s operations, before enjoying a tour of the building—including Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen, the first in the UK.

Our students asked fantastic questions and showed great character throughout. 💙💛

Thank you to Lucia and the team for welcoming us, and to Mr Edwards for organising such a valuable experience beyond the classroom!

🎉 **Congratulations to the Aylesford School Class of 2026!**

We’re celebrating another year of improved GCSE results, with overall attainment rising for the second consecutive year and strong progress across a range of subjects.

We’re particularly pleased to see significant improvement in outcomes for students with special educational needs, alongside more students achieving strong passes across five or more subjects, including English and Mathematics.

A huge well done to all our students for their hard work, determination and resilience, and thank you to our staff, parents and families for the support they have given throughout the year.

Many students will now continue their journey with us in our growing Sixth Form, where we still have a limited number of places available for September.
