πŸ“’ GOOD NEWS FOR Oxford Road (Prebendal Farm - AYLESBURY WEST): FOOTWAY RECONSTRUCTION WORKS FINALLY SCHEDULED!

Following our continued efforts and representations, we are pleased to confirm that footway reconstruction works on Fowler Road and several adjoining roads have now been scheduled.

As your Unitary Councillors, Cllr Nidhi Mehta and Cllr Alan Sherwell, we have been pushing for these improvements, and it is good to see the works finally moving forward.

πŸ“ Roads included:
β€’ Fowler Road
β€’ St Anne’s Road
β€’ St Catherines Court
β€’ Chesterfield Place
β€’ Several other side roads off Fowler Road

πŸ“… Scheduled dates: Wednesday 21 October to Saturday 21 November 2026

πŸ•€ Working hours: 9:30 am to 3:30 pm

🚦 Traffic management: Multi-way traffic lights will be used while the works are carried out.

We understand how important safe, well-maintained footways are for residents, particularly older people, families with pushchairs and anyone with mobility needs. These improvements are an important step towards making our local streets safer and more accessible.

Thank you to residents for your patience while these works take place. We will continue to push for improvements across Aylesbury West and keep residents informed about local developments.

FYI - As received from EKFB/ HS2

EKFB will be undertaking an abnormal load movement through Aylesbury on Tuesday 15 September from 7.30pm, as part of ongoing HS2 construction activities.
To facilitate the safe passage of the vehicles, temporary traffic management measures and/or rolling road closures of up to 15 minutes may be required along the following routes:
A41 Tring Road
A41 Friarage Road
A418 Oxford Road

On this occasion, the up-coming abnormal load is just below the requisite width to warrant Thames Valley Police involvement and will be covered by EKFB's traffic management team for es**rt, as well as the Hauliers own es**rt team.

Any traffic restrictions will be implemented only as necessary to enable the vehicles to move through the area safely and efficiently.

To ensure residents and road users are informed in advance:
Buckinghamshire Council Corporate Communications has been engaged to promote details of the movement via social media channels.
EKFB has undertaken a leaflet drop to properties in affected neighbourhoods along and close to the route.

The movement has also been publicised through HS2 and EKFB stakeholder communication channels.
Further information, including the advance works notice, can be viewed on the HS2 website:

https://www.hs2.org.uk/work-items/notice-of-abnormal-loads-aylesbury-2/
Notice of abnormal loads, Aylesbury - HS2

Officers will continue to monitor the arrangements and liaise with EKFB and relevant partners to minimise disruption wherever possible.

We are advising residents and road users of an upcoming delivery of a steel footbridge that will be positioned over the HS2 line. Because the footbridge is an exceptionally large structure, its delivery is classed as an abnormally sized load. This means the movements have been carefully planned and....

Due to the extreme heat, collections may be affected if working conditions become unsafe and teams need to finish early.

A huge thank you to everyone working outside in these conditions to keep our services running. Please stay safe and look out for each other. πŸ™
