Do you recycle plastic bags and wrappers at your local supermarket? These cannot be placed in your home recycling bin, at the moment in Bucks. Most people save their bags up and take them back when they do their weekly shop which can also be a good way to visualise how much packaging is used at home, often more than we think 🫣

Did you know that 'plastic, cans & glass' and 'paper & card' are sent to different processing plants which is why we ask for them to be separated for your kerbside collections? If you have too much paper or cardboard for your allocated box you can use any other plastic box, order a second box (using the link below) or leave it folded and tucked next to your bin on collection day.

Did you know you can recycle vapes at all 10 Household Recycling Centres across Bucks? Vapes contain batteries, which can cause fires in waste trucks and facilities if placed into any bin. But recycling them safely is really easy, you can:

♻️ put them in a carrier bag, on top of your recycling bin (on recycling collection day)
♻️ take them to a household recycling centre
♻️ take them to a supermarket, as most of them have a special recycling bin for vapes

Secateurs, shears or loppers not cutting like they used to? Don't be too hasty to throw them away and replace them! Take them along to your nearest Repair Cafe and get them fixed or sharpened by an experienced volunteer repairer to give them a new lease of life.
And it's not just garden tools that can be repaired. Depending on the volunteers available, your clothes, furniture, toys and even electricals, computers and mobile phones can be brought back to life, saving you money and conserving precious natural resources.
