Snake’s head fritillaries gently swaying in the spring breeze at the burial meadow yesterday. These wildflowers thrive in traditional meadows, where the grass is left to grow and given space to flourish.

This is a Pasqueflower or Meadow Anemone spotted by Daphne who along with her family, were planting a Rowan Memorial Tree today in memory of her husband. According to legend, the Pasqueflower springs from the blood of Vikings and grows upon their graves so very apt it should be growing at our Burial Meadow. It is classed as vulnerable under the Great Britain Vascular Red List and is also regarded as an important plant in conservation of biodiversity, so we will be looking after it 🌺
