๐Ÿš“ Our commitment to tackling shoplifting across Aylesbury continues.

On Friday 29 May, plain-clothed officers carried out targeted activity which resulted in several arrests. Among those arrested was an 18-year-old man from Aylesbury on suspicion of shoplifting and assault.

We are using both uniformed and plain-clothed officers in proactive operations designed to identify offenders and take swift action against them.

Thank you to the stores and members of the public who continue to support our efforts to keep Aylesbury safe.

Retail crime operations are taking place across the Thames Valley Police area and will continue as we work to catch offenders, bring charges, and put them before the courts.

Weโ€™re lucky to live in one of the most beautiful parts of the country, which means our rural car parks are very popular this time of year. Walkers, dog walkers, nature loversโ€ฆ and unfortunately, the occasional opportunist thief.

As the sunshine arrives, so does the annual rise in thefts from vehicles. And while weโ€™re out patrolling, we need your help too.

Top tips to keep your belongings safe:

๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿป Take them with you โ€” the safest option

๐Ÿ™ˆ Hide them well โ€” thieves canโ€™t steal what they canโ€™t see

๐Ÿ‘œ Donโ€™t leave bags on seats โ€” even empty ones attract attention

If youโ€™re struggling to hide things, feel free to ask your kids. Theyโ€™re experts at making items disappearโ€ฆ permanently.

Letโ€™s enjoy the countryside without giving thieves a day out too.

๐Ÿ‘ฎ Shoplifting Operation Princes Risborough ๐Ÿ‘ฎ

On 15/06/2026, a plain clothes operation was carried out at Marks & Spencer, Princes Risborough, with the support of in-store under cover operators.
This proactive deployment focused on identifying and deterring retail crime, providing reassurance to customers and staff. By working discreetly within the store, officers and security teams were able to monitor activity closely and build intelligence.
Those involved in retail crime should be aware that they are being identified. We remain committed to taking action and bringing offenders to account.
If you see suspicious behaviour, please report it to store staff or contact us.

๐Ÿšจ We are appealing for witnesses following two knifepoint robberies in Aylesbury.

The first incident took place at around 10pm last Monday, where four teenage boys approached the victims, two men aged in their late teens, and robbed them at knifepoint at Vale Park. The same victims were then later assaulted by the same group of males outside Rocco Lounge.

The second incident took place at around the same time, where the victim, a man in his twenties, was robbed at knifepoint at the Aylesbury Bus Station, Great Western Street.

A number of items were stolen including their mobile phones, watches, power banks and cash.

The victims at Vale Park did not sustain any injuries.

The victim at the Aylesbury Bus Station, the man in his twenties, sustained minor injuries and required hospital treatment but has since been discharged.

We understand these incidents such as these will be distressing for local residents, but these are being treated as separate incidents, and we are conducting enquiries in the area and investigating this as a top priority.

As such, there will be an increased presence of police officers in the area conducting extra patrols, and so if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to one of them.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Thames Valley Police, either by making a report online or by calling 101, quoting reference 43260287234.

Alternatively provide information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or via its website.

๐Ÿšจ We are appealing for witnesses following an incident of grievous bodily harm in Aylesbury.

Between 11pm yesterday and 1am today, two men presented to hospital with grievous bodily harm level injuries.

Following enquiries, it suggested that the injuries were from an incident that we believe involved a bladed weapon that occurred in the area of the Waterside North Car Park, Exchange Street.

The first victim, a man in his forties, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, is currently in hospital receiving treatment.

The second victim, a man in his twenties, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and has since been discharged.

No arrests have been made at this current time.

We understand this incident will be concerning for people, but we believe this to be an isolated incident with no threat to the wider public.

You will see an increased police presence in the area and extra patrols. Please speak to a uniformed officer if you have any concerns.

Anyone with any information, CCTV, dashcam footage is urged to call 101 or report via our website quoting reference 43260297233.
