Today Natalie from Drama tots came in and we talked about friendship and what it means to be a good friend. The children shared ideas such as sharing, being kind, and playing together. We then made “biscuits” for a party using bean bags as pretend dough, following a fun Dough Disco-style song with actions like rolling, pinching, and kneading the bean bags. Afterwards, we had a party where the children danced with scarves and followed different actions. We also sang and joined in with “If you’re happy and you know it ,” and finished the session with bubbles while listening to “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.” and talking about how friendships make us feel happy 🥰

Over the past few weeks, the children have been learning all about plant life cycles and growing. They have enjoyed planting and caring for their own runner beans, sunflowers, cress, and vegetables, helping them to understand how plants grow and what they need to stay healthy. The children have been developing their curiosity through watering, observing changes over time, and talking about the different stages of growth.

The children have also been fascinated by the caterpillars in nursery and have loved watching them grow and change each day. They are very excited to see what happens next as they learn about life cycles and transformation through first-hand experiences.

Alongside this, we have enjoyed trips to the park, where the children have been exploring the natural environment, developing their physical skills, and building confidence through outdoor play. We have also continued to enjoy our exciting Drama Tots sessions, encouraging imagination, creativity, listening skills, and confidence through storytelling and role play.

Our BAG2school collection will now be on Thursday 7th May instead of Friday 1st May - we are continuing to collect so please feel free to drop off any bags of unwanted clothes etc!

Over the last 6 months there has been a gradual move towards offering Drop In Appointments for pre-school children. At this time all areas are now offering Drop Ins.

The Easy Access Drop Ins are part of the balanced system framework aimed at getting the right help to children and families at the right time. Sometimes this will be some advice and recommendations and sometimes this may be more formal assessment.

* A passion for working with children
* Early Years qualifications are desirable but not essential – full training will be provided, with an expectation to complete relevant courses

* 2 days per week (16 hours)
* Maternity cover position
* Flexibility is essential (days may vary to meet nursery needs)
* Opportunity for extra hours to cover holidays and sickness
* Potential for a permanent position for the right candidate

We understand how important it is for parents to feel confident and reassured about their child’s safety, especially when it comes to sleep. 💛

With the recent news highlighting poor sleeping practices in some settings, and in line with updated guidance, we want to reassure you that we follow safer sleep recommendations at all times.

All children are provided with appropriate cots or beds, and we ensure that sleep environments are set up in line with recommended safety practices. This includes placing babies on their backs to sleep, using clear sleep spaces free from unnecessary items, maintaining a comfortable room temperature, and using appropriate cellular blankets for safe and breathable sleep.

Our team is trained to regularly monitor sleeping children, ensuring they remain safe and comfortable throughout their rest. We also use visual and sound monitors to provide an added layer of supervision and reassurance.

Your child’s wellbeing is always our top priority, and we are committed to providing a safe, caring, and nurturing environment every day.
