๐ŸŒŠโ™ป๏ธ Our little learners are making a splash! ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ

Our Pre-School children have continued exploring their Recycling and Sea World theme by rescuing sea creatures from plastic, creating fish from recyclable materials, sorting shells and investigating how to free sea animals trapped in ice.

As well as, taking part in a Forest School session learning the rules and exploring the exciting outdoor environment.

Lots of fantastic creativity, discovery and learning through play! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ ๐Ÿƒ

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have been informed by the Wessex Learning Trust that, due to the Met Office Red Weather Alert and the associated health and safety risks, all Trust schools will be closed to pupils on Wednesday 24th June and Thursday 25th June.

This is a Trust-wide decision made to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of pupils and staff.

For Tuesday, we will be making a number of adjustments to help keep children safe and comfortable during the hot weather:

- Breaktimes will be shortened and children will spend no more than 10 minutes outside at a time.
- Lunchtime provision will move indoors, with children remaining inside after eating their lunch.
- Staff will provide regular opportunities for children to drink water throughout the day.
- Outdoor learning and play will be limited to short periods, with children spending as much time as possible in shaded or cooler areas.

We appreciate that the closure may cause inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. A formal letter containing further information will be sent shortly.

Kind regards,
Mrs Dover

๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŒฑ Reception Class ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ“š

Our reception class have been immersing themselves in the story of Jack and the Beanstalk through whole-class reading, story retelling, small world play, exploring key vocabulary and creating artwork inspired by the tale.

They will be completing their first non-fiction writing activity! The children will plant their own bean seeds and write a simple set of instructions explaining how to grow a bean plant.

We can't wait to see the children's creativity growโ€”just like their beanstalks! ๐ŸŒฟโœจ

โ˜€๏ธ Hot Weather Reminder โ˜€๏ธ

With warm weather expected next week, please help us keep children safe and comfortable in school:

โœ… Children may wear their PE kit to school if this will help them stay cool and comfortable.
โœ… Apply sunscreen before school and send a named bottle of SPF 30+ sunscreen for reapplication if needed. Children will need to apply their own sunscreen, and staff will provide regular reminders throughout the day.
โœ… Send a sun hat and ensure your child has a water bottle.
โœ… We will make use of shaded areas, encourage regular drinks, and adapt activities to keep children safe.
โœ… On very hot days, PE and some outdoor activities may be modified or moved indoors.

Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe in the sunshine! ๐ŸŒž ๐Ÿงข

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been another busy week in school, with many exciting learning and opportunities taking place across the classes.

This week, Year 3 enjoyed a drama workshop which provided a fantastic opportunity for the children to develop their confidence, creativity and performance skills. It was wonderful to see them fully engaging with the activities and stepping outside of their comfort zones.

Meanwhile, Year 1 have been eagerly caring for the eggs in their incubator and learning all about the life cycle of chicks. The children have taken their responsibilities very seriously and are excitedly waiting for the eggs to hatch. It has been a fantastic hands-on learning experience, and there is certainly a lot of anticipation in the classroom!

๐ŸŒžSummer Fun Night ๐ŸŒž
๐ŸŽ‰Friday 26th June 5-7 PM ๐ŸŽ‰

A reminder that our Summer Fun Night will take place next Friday, 26th June. The Friends of Weare have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to organise what promises to be a fantastic event for our school community. There will be lots of stalls, games, refreshments and even the opportunity to throw a wet sponge at a teacher - something I suspect may prove very popular!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the FoW in advance for all of their hard work. Events like this take a huge amount of planning, organisation and volunteer time, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they do to support the children and the school.

โ˜•๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท Bonjour from Year 4! ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ทโ˜•

Last Thursday, our school hall was transformed into a bustling French cafรฉ as pupils enjoyed a fantastic language experience hosted by visiting Year 7 students from Hugh Sexey Middle School.

The children confidently practised ordering food and drinks in French, sampled some delicious treats and immersed themselves in the lively atmosphere of a traditional cafรฉ. It was a wonderful opportunity to bring their language learning to life in a fun and memorable way!

A huge merci to the Year 7 students for supporting the event and helping make it such a success, and to our amazing PTA for generously funding this wonderful experience. โœจ
