BASICS Scotland provide Prehospital Immediate Medical Care in Scotland BASICS Scotland Responders cover Scotland providing a 24 hour service 365 days.

BASICS Scotland is a registered charity, a voluntary emergency service and is supported by Medical Professionals serving the public. Our responders are entirely dedicated volunteers who sacrifice precious family and work time with employer support, their interests especially Pre-Hospital care but more so.. they place themselves in a hostile environment without hesitation, to care and support inju

red patients prior to receiving definitive hospital care. Our Responders work closely with our Multi-agency partners :Scottish Ambulance Service, Police , RAF Search & Rescue, Mountain Rescue Coast Guard and Fire & Rescue Services.

We’re proud to share the educational developments and impact delivered throughout 2025/26, made possible through the continued support of Public Services Delivery Scotland (PDS).

From remote and rural training opportunities to advancing education in pre-hospital, paediatric and emergency care, our CSMEN-funded initiatives continue to support healthcare professionals across Scotland with accessible, practical and high-quality learning.

These programmes help doctors, nurses and paramedics build confidence, skills and resilience in the environments where they work most.
