On 21st August I had the pleasure of presenting the trophies to winners of The Atherstone Ladies Darts League. This group of amazing people provides a supportive, competitive and inspiring social environment. Each individual team combats loneliness, reduces stress, provides laughter and hones a talent of darts which is becoming increasingly popular. I was honoured to spend an evening in great company with an amazing buffet and a disco. Thank you ladies and congratulations to all the winners !

Jessie’s Journey is one of my chosen charities for my Mayoral year. This is Jessie’s story and the reason this incredible little girl was a catalyst for an amazing charity within our Community helping others who are experiencing the same struggles in life with cancer. 🩷

On Sunday we attended a charity music and fun fair festival organised by Coleshill Mayor Michael Ford-Terry.
The Coleshill Mayors Charities are Breast Cancer UK, Mary Ann Evans Hospice, who have dedicated nurses for end of life care and Coleshill Town Band, all of whom rely on donations 💙 Thank you to all the amazing volunteers who gave their time on the day. It was also great to see support from other Mayors at the event. To follow …members of the “chain gain” photographed on the waltzers ! Now wouldn’t that be fun ?🎉

I caught up with Cohort 4 today for their Wellbeing Wednesday at Rubys Yard in Atherstone. What a fabulous morning I had with the group who are so welcoming and supportive. I had a go at painting canisters to make wind chimes, admired the creativity in the garden area and enjoyed some tea, cake and cheesy chips ! Cohort 4 is a peer led community group supporting women who have encountered multiple and complex disadvantages in life such as domestic abuse, mental ill health and loneliness. The ethos is “doing with not doing to” which builds, confidence, opportunity and a sense of belonging. Thank you Carol, Jules, Linda and all of the ladies for a wonderful visit.
