Residents, businesses and community groups across Ashford are being invited to help shape a new wave of locally owned renewable energy projects.

Ashford Borough Council (ABC) has partnered with Community Energy Pathways to support the development of a community-led energy organisation that will identify and deliver renewable energy projects across the borough.

We are looking for local people from all walks of life to bring their skills and passion to make change happen and take a leading role.

Unplug your v**e when it’s fully charged to reduce the risk of fire.

Rechargeable v**es contain batteries which can overheat when left charging for too long - and that means fire risk. Tonight. In your bedroom, your kitchen, or any room in your home. They can also endanger lives for crews working on bin lorries and in recycling centres 😬🔥

To find your nearest recycling points, where you can drop them off safely, follow the link in the comments ⬇️

Never 'too old' to learn ❤️

Ageism is the prejudice, discrimination and stereotyping directed toward people based on their age.

It's so ingrained in society that we often don't notice it, but we know that negative assumptions about ageing are all too common. 'Stuck in their ways', 'You look good for your age', 'it's time to slow down' or 'can't teach an old dog new tricks' as just a few examples...

Today is Age Without Limits Day and it is all about challenging society's expectations of us as we age, and questioning where these assumptions come from in the first place.

Ashford is also part of the UK network of Age Friendly Communities - a growing movement of places committed to making their communities a better place to age in, as we work with the Centre for Ageing Better to develop our action plan.
