🎆 Bonfire Night & Fireworks Safety 🎆
As we approach Bonfire Night and the fireworks season, we'd like to share some important safety reminders from our local neighbourhood policing team.
Fireworks can be great fun when used responsibly, but they can also cause distress, injury and anti-social behaviour if misused. Please be mindful of your neighbours, especially young children, older residents, pets and anyone who may be sensitive to loud noises.
✅ Fireworks must not be set off between 11pm and 7am, except for certain celebrations including Bonfire Night, when the cut-off is midnight.
✅ It is illegal for anyone under 18 to possess fireworks in a public place.
✅ Dangerous or irresponsible use of fireworks may result in police action.
Stay Safe
• Buy fireworks from reputable retailers.
• Follow instructions carefully.
• Never return to a firework once lit.
• Keep fireworks away from children & pets.
• Consider attending organised displays.
• Let neighbours know in advance if you are planning a display.
If you witness dangerous firework use or anti-social behaviour, please report it to Kent Police. In an emergency, or where there is an immediate risk to life or property, call 999.
