Kent Fostering and Supported Homes This page offers information about events and recent news about Kent Fostering and Supported Homes

Kent Fostering and Supported Homes is the most experienced fostering service in Kent, and we have been looking after children for over 40 years. We are a public service and not for profit, and therefore our only goal is to provide safe, nurturing
homes for our children. We are part of Kent County Council (KCC), for whom fostering is a priority. Unlike other independent fostering agencies, we make

a commitment to place our Kent children and young people in Kent homes, and therefore family time and other meetings and commitments will be more local to where you live. Our social workers and Kent Fostering team are local too, meaning that they can be available and responsive as and when you need them. Our page is monitored occasionally throughout working hours of Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. We will aim to respond to enquiries as soon as possible, but the best method is to contact us via phone on 03000 420 002 or visit our website www.kentfostering.co.uk

This page is a public forum, so please do not post anything that may cause offence. Any post that is considered offensive will be deleted and the person may be blocked from the page. If you have a complaint, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue.

Foster Care Fortnight may be over, but fostering continues every day.
Carole, one of our Mockingbird Hub Home carers, has kindly shared a glimpse into a recent weekend in her own words.
My husband and I became Mockingbird Hub Home carers 15 months ago, and since then an amazing fostering family has grown made up of nine families we support in different ways. This weekend, we had sleepovers for a 14‑year‑old and an 11‑year‑old, giving their carer the chance to enjoy a birthday weekend away. We had a wonderful time together baking chocolate cake and cookies, with the children leading every step, from shopping to measuring ingredients. I was even shown how to make a movable dragon puppet, I learn so much from these children!

Sunday was our monthly social day, where all the families come together. This time, we visited the beach, with 11 adults and 19 children joining in. Despite the weather, it felt like one big family. The children are growing up together, like cousins, and spend time together happily regardless of age or background. There was food, games, exploring — and plenty of teamwork trying to catch the biggest crab!

Moments like these show how much our Mockingbird family has grown. Carers support one another, children feel safe and comfortable, and most importantly everyone has fun together.

This is Fostering.
