Three full boxes of ink cartridges were recently returned to Recycle4Charity and we received £63.40 for them bringing the total raised in June to £116.95! Raising money for our charity and saving waste from going to landfill - it’s a win win !!

Since we introduced the scheme in September 2008, we have been paid £2,232.96 and in the last twelve months alone, we have raised £387.70.

As you can see, this recycling scheme is becoming more popular and we now have 225 boxes in the Diocese. Each school and church should have one, but if you’ve misplaced yours, please let Vicki our Fundraiser know and she can reorder you a replacement - email [email protected] or call 01364 645424. Thank you.

Thank you to Fr James and all the children and staff at St Mary’s in Axminster for our wonderful annual Mass last Thursday.

It was the most wonderful afternoon and the gift chaplains were superb with both their readings and harmonious singing. Everyone was absolutely enthralled by the wonderful and enthusiastic singing.

Thank you again to Fr James, Claire Webber the Head Teacher and all the staff and children whose behaviour was impeccable. They were a real credit to your lovely school !!

A very generous donation from the Parish of the Most Holy Trinity in Axminster has raised £2,672.36 so far just from five beautiful, old coins !

The 1915 Austrian 100 Corona is a classic large-format gold bullion coin originally issued by the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. The 1887 British Silver Crown was issued by the Royal Mint to celebrate Queen Victorias Golden Jubilee marking 50 years of her reign. The 1680 Charles II crown is a 17th century English silver coin from the Restoration period. The 1951 Crown is a commemorative coin issued by the Royal Mint to celebrate the Festival of Britain and the ingot medallion commemorates the Investiture of HRH Charles Prince of Wales in 1969 in Wales and weighs 112 grams of 999 Fine Silver fully hallmarked.

Work is being carried out on the remaining items donated through their orange box as well as from a number of other parishes whose donations were delivered to Plymouth yesterday.

Thank you to all our wonderful parishioners who continue to donate their unwanted items. So far in 2026, we have raised £4,514.35 and tomorrow we travel to Dorset to collect a few more orange bags before our annual mass in Axminster.

Just a reminder that our annual Mass is on Thursday this week and is being held at 2pm at St Mary’s in Axminster. There will be refreshments in the school before for anyone travelling and then afterwards for everyone.

Fr James will be accompanied by the children from St Mary’s Catholic Primary School and everyone is welcome.

We like to travel round the Diocese so that we have the opportunity to meet lots of new CCSP supporters as well as lots of familiar faces who are happy to travel.

Please email [email protected] or call 01364 645420 to express your interest in attending this year’s annual mass.

Are you looking for a rewarding, voluntary role working for a small children’s charity making a real difference ?

We are looking for 2 or 3 trustees to join our Board as following retirement, we now have just 7. Having said that, they are certainly ‘The Magnificent 7’ and have a wealth of experience between them. We have a retired solicitor, two former Headteachers, a retired Child Psychologist and a former school teacher. We also have a trustee with a degree in accountancy, another with current experience of CAMHS, a Deacon and another working as Diocesan RE lead and Catholic Life Adviser.

If you are able to attend up to 4 Monday meetings each year at St Boniface House in Ashburton, and would like to come along to our next meeting in July or October, please email [email protected] or call 01364 645420 and Karen Grute would be delighted to have a chat with you. We are particularly keen to recruit one trustee with some experience of HR.

This year’s Great Big Diocesan Quiz raised £1,646.83 from just 7 parishes who took part, and we are also waiting on one more parish to confirm how much they raised.

Thank you to everyone who joined in and helped raise such a fantastic amount of money for CCSP. The feedback we received was so lovely and many parishes reported having so much fun !

Pictured below are Quizzards of Oz from St Mary's in Poole who won the overall GBDQ champion’s trophy with 102 marks and also a couple of photos from the quiz in Newquay.

We recently helped a mother and her two sons who had fled domestic abuse and were starting over from scratch. We received this wonderful feedback and two photos …..

“I want to thank you so much for organising the funds to buy our lovely fridge freezer. We received the delivery and installation by two lovely gentlemen from HBH Woolacotts.

What a difference this has made to myself and my two boys! We now have fresh food, fruits and vegetables and no more food waste 🥰. It is a perfect fit for our kitchen and just enough for our needs.

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for your kindness and generosity.

May God richly reward you 🙏🏽🙏🏽”

Thank you to all our loyal supporters who ensure that we are able to help families like this with the basic essentials of life. If you would like to support us and there are a number of ways such as making a one off donation, or even setting up a regular monthly donation, please visit our website ccsplymouth.org.uk/support-us/

Unfortunately, due to receiving an increased number of applications to our Essential Grants programme this month, we have reached our monthly spending cap.

This means that regrettably we are unable to accept any new applications until Monday, 1 June when the application process will reopen. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause and it is not a decision that the board of trustees has taken lightly.

We continue as always to look for additional funding to support our EGP and are always grateful to our loyal supporters and our regular monthly donors as your support means so much to CCSP and the families we help in the current difficult financial times we are in.
