Ascension Day saw 6 wells dressed in our Village for Tissington Well Dressings
Bishop Humphrey gave the address at St Mary's Church and then the Clergy and the various dignataries processed around the Tissington Village blessing all the Wells.

Thankyou to The High Sheriff of Staffordshire for attending

The Wells will remain up until Wednesday 20th May at 16.00.

Really lovely stay at Butlers Retreat in Tissington. Peaceful, private and in a great spot for exploring Derbyshire. Sir Richard sent clear instructions and helpful recommendations before we arrived, which made everything really easy. A calm, comfortable place to stay, we’d definitely come back.

Myself and my girlfriend loved visiting and staying at Butler’s Retreat. The room and amenities were perfect for a relaxing weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Richard offered us a tour around the gardens which we would have loved to attend, unfortunately we got caught up with exploring the surrounding countryside and didn’t get a chance, though should we revisit, touring the gardens will be on the top of our to-do list. We strongly recommend you consider Butler’s Retreat for your visit to Tissington.

High Flatts

Absolutely idyllic spot - peaceful, gorgeous views and lots of light even on a cloudy day. The barn itself was very well equipped with everything we could need. Easy walking distance to the village cafe which was lovely and lots of walks right from the doorstep.

A beautifully converted barn in a spectacular setting. Perfect for a family or 2 couples. Great location, walks direct from the accommodation with good pubs and restaurants a short drive away. A generous welcome basket was a nice surprise. We will return!

Grooms Flat

We had a fantastic time at The Grooms. The surroundings were so beautiful and idyllic, it was a great place to recharge the batteries away from city life. We visit the Old Dog, just a few minutes drive, for dinner and enjoyed it too. Chatsworth House and gardens was our highlight of the trip. Sir Richard has been a great host, responsive and friendly. We highly recommend this beautiful place.
