Snaky Lane Local Nature Reserve

Snaky Lane Local Nature Reserve Snaky Lane Local Nature Reserve, Ash Vale A community managed 7 acre haven of grassland, scrub, trees & pond for wildlife & visitors to enjoy.

Snaky Lane Community Wildlife Group is a voluntary organisation established in 1993. Our aim is "to conserve Snaky Lane, its flora, fauna & wildlife habitats as a community resource, & to promote its use by local people as a place of quiet enjoyment & study of the countryside". Through our 10 year site management plan & support from both Guildford Borough Council as landowner & the Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership, we have a clear vision for the future of Snaky Lane.

We are aware that a tent has been pitched in the grazing field, occupied by a couple of homeless men.
This has been reported to Guilford Borough Council Homeless Outreach and Support Team (HOST) who will be working to help them in due course.

I've finally caught up on some long overdue admin to upload several albums of fixed point photos. There are c. 70 photos taken at fixed points across Snaky Lane, with two sets taken each year, one in February/March; and the other in August/September.
The photo series began back in August 2011 so we now have 15 years worth of biannual photos tracking how Snaky Lane has changed over that time.
Next aim is to produce some flick throughs of the same location across the 15 years.
