Discover a safe haven bursting with wetland nature at Arundel Wetland Centre. This gorgeous nature reserve offers guided boat trips, an amazing boardwalk through the reedbeds, paved pathways and daily warden talks. New for 2021- Meet the incredible Dalmatian Pelicans at the new Pelican Cove exhibit and stroll the new Coastal Creek aviary walk through experience with wetland birds fly above and dive below. Get close to wildlife at our 8 unique hides with their kingfisher perches, artificial nesting banks and gravel nesting islands nearby. All hides are directly on the water be it a ditch, scrape, channel or pond.

If you're visiting us today, please note that road closures are in place through the town for the Arundel 1940s Revival Day. We recommend travelling to us via the Causeway Roundabout off the A27.

Our hedgerows are bursting with blackberries right now, but these berries are an important food source for wildlife, so please leave them for nature to enjoy.

Blackberries help feed birds, mice, bank voles and insects through autumn and winter, like this harvest mouse photographed by Romney Turner.

If you're foraging elsewhere, remember the golden rule: leave the high berries for the birds and the low berries for the animals. 🐦🦔

Lucky visitors enjoyed a spectacular osprey flyover from Ramsar Hide on both 31 August and 1 September. Thanks Glyn Hiscock for sending in this pic. These magnificent birds of prey are a real highlight of the season as they pass through Arundel on their epic journey from the UK to wintering grounds in Africa.

Last September & October we had an osprey on site for over three weeks. Could we get that lucky again?

💙 A kingfisher treat for visitors!
Visitors spotted two kingfishers on the front pond yesterday afternoon. One perched low over the water on a branch, while the second stayed tucked away in the bushes.
Over the past couple of weeks we've seen up to three kingfishers chasing each other around the pond and calling loudly. These autumn displays are often linked to strengthening pair bonds, defending feeding territories, or establishing dominance among young birds.
Keep your eyes on the front pond. You never know when a flash of electric blue might appear!
