This photograph was taken back at the beginning of our campaign to get our candidates, Emma, Anya and Tim elected as Councillors for our Ward.
They have worked relentlessly over the past months and have delivered a very strong and detailed campaign in challenging circumstances.
They were helped by Ward Members, Doncaster wide Councillors and activists, our Mayor and MP, Government figures, Party officials, colleagues from all over Yorkshire and by local community members and organisations.
Supporters have knocked on countless doors and have delivered thousands upon thousands of pieces of election communications.
There are too many to name individually, however, we wish to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who helped.
Tim was successful, however Emma and Anya were not. They both polled around a thousand votes, in normal times probably enough for success.
They were both exceptional candidates.
We have not seen the last of them. They are exactly the kind of treasure that our Labour Party needs for its future. Their Labour journey doesn’t end here, Look out for them.
All best wishes for the future to Tim, he is an exceptional Councillor committed to the service of his community and, to paraphrase Mayor Ros, has Armthorpe written through him like a stick of rock.
Many hard working, creative, committed and community focused colleagues lost their seats yesterday, our sincerest commiserations, love and support goes out to them.
In conclusion, let’s have a rest and then look to the future and see what we can do to look after our Village, our City, our Home.
