What a gorgeous day for flying! ✈️

Today we had 3 cadets taking part in Air Experience Flying at Leuchars Station. For some this was their first experience in a small aircraft and even had a chance to have a shot of the controls.

They were also fortunate enough to have a quick tour around a Spitfire, which is currently touring around Great Britain for the 90th anniversary of the first flight of the Spitfire.

Last month, we said farewell to FS Mullett as he completed his cadet career with us.

From learning the importance of wearing the uniform correctly to successfully completing the demanding Junior Leaders course, Cameron has achieved so much during his time in the RAF Air Cadets. His dedication, commitment and determination have always stood out.

Cameron has been a huge support to the squadron, helping to teach and mentor younger cadets while passing on his knowledge and experiences. He has been a real asset not only to the Squadron, but also across the Wing and Region. His passion for shooting has been clear to all, and he has proudly coached several teams at ISCRM, representing the Corps to a high standard.

Thank you for your service and everything you’ve given to the squadron — you will truly be missed.

We wish you every success and happiness in whatever the future holds! 👏

This week our newer cadets had the chance to try Air Rifle Shooting for the first time 🎯
They learned the basic principles of marksmanship and put their skills into practice, successfully achieving their Trained Shot qualification — well done!

Meanwhile, other cadets got hands-on with our new MTA kit 💪 This exciting new asset will help develop leadership and teamwork skills through a range of practical and challenging activities.

Not the start we were hoping for, but the weather had other ideas! ☁️

On Saturday, three of our cadets travelled to RAF Kirknewton for a gliding opportunity. Unfortunately, due to poor weather on arrival, their flying allocation had to be cancelled.

That said, the cadets still enjoyed a short tour of the hangar before heading home. Fingers crossed for better weather next time! ✈️

Cadets and staff joined units from across the region to begin the PTS on the L98, working towards competition level in October.

While cadets were live firing on the DCCT and the barrack range, four of our cadets were completing their full training on the L98A2 Cadet GP Rifle.
