[ NORTHERN GRIT IN THE POURING RAIN ]

The Army Northern Sport Calendar is officially underway!

Yesterday, 29 teams of three — 59 male and 27 female runners — took on the first Army Sport North Cross Country Relay of the season.

Each runner faced a tough 4km leg, including the infamous Snake Hill. With pouring rain adding to the challenge, conditions were anything but easy — but that didn’t stop some seriously impressive performances.

⏱️ Fastest leg of the day: an incredible 13:04!

Congratulations to every runner who battled through the conditions, and especially to the winning units and individual award winners. 👏

Next up ➡️ Marne Barracks, 30 September.

This time it’s teams of three taking on back-to-back-to-back 2km legs over a flat, fast course. Expect the pace to be high! 💨

This was taken during training in Kenya, where Reservists from across came together to develop their skills, support one another and represent the 103 Regiment overseas.

Everyone standing here started in exactly the same place, wondering if they could do it.

This year the Officers’ Mess Reunion Dinner will be held on Friday 30th October at the Royal Artillery Mess, Larkhill.

As always it promises to be a great occasion where we can reconnect with old friends and celebrate the history of our Regiment.

You don’t need to know anyone before you walk through the door.

That soon changes.

You’ll meet people with different jobs, different backgrounds and different reasons for joining.

You’ll train together. Learn together. Have a laugh together. And when things get tough, you’ll get through them together.

That’s one of the things you don’t really see from the outside.

You might join for your own reasons.

But the people become one of them.
