No one moves alone 👊🏼

War cop Training Area, soldiers from Burma Company, 1st Battalion, The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment demonstrated the discipline, trust and teamwork that sit at the heart of infantry soldiering.

Whether advancing, withdrawing or manoeuvring to a new position, every movement was covered by their teammates, ensuring pressure remained on the enemy while momentum was maintained.

These drills demand clear communication, tactical awareness and complete confidence in the soldiers around you. The ammunition is live and the risk is real, but always controlled. It is a skill forged through relentless training and one that allows teams to operate effectively in challenging and dynamic environments.

Are you aged between 14–18 and passionate about sport? Whether you’re an athlete, part of a team, an official, or simply enjoy being involved in sport, this is your opportunity to experience a day with the British Army at Fulwood Barracks.

Join us for a fun and engaging day designed to challenge and inspire, with activities focused on teamwork, leadership, problem solving and communication. Attend as a team, a group of friends or as an individual and discover the wide range of sporting opportunities available within the British Army.

Across Otterburn Training Area, soldiers from Corunna Company, 1st Battalion, The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment demonstrated the discipline, trust and teamwork that sit at the heart of infantry soldiering.

[ ARMY SPORT NORTH – NORTHERN 9'S RUGBY LEAGUE ]

Grit. Determination. Teamwork.

Soldiers from across the north recently came together at Blackwell Meadows, Darlington, for the Army Sport North Northern 9's Rugby League Competition.

Representing units including The Parachute Regiment, The Rifles, The Mercian Regiment and 5th Regiment Royal Artillery, competitors demonstrated the qualities that define . Throughout a hard-fought day of rugby, players showcased resilience, commitment and teamwork, competing with intensity while upholding the highest standards of sportsmanship.

Events such as these highlight the important role sport plays in developing the physical robustness, leadership and fighting spirit that soldiers rely upon both on operations and in barracks. Every tackle, sprint and contest reflected the professionalism and determination that exists across our units.

Congratulations to all players, coaches, officials and organisers whose efforts made the competition such a success. Your commitment continues to strengthen Army sport and inspire others to get involved.
