Crail Park Renovation

Crail Park Renovation Our park is in need of a full renovation. Once the current equipment becomes damaged or unsafe Fife Council won't replace it.

We have already lost the roundabout and its up to the community to help renovate the park.

Making progress! And the kids are loving seeing everything that’s going on in their park. Lots of questions for the team doing the work. Perhaps some budding play park designers in the future - what a delightful job!

WE HAVE A START DATE!!

Renovation of the play park will start week commencing 3rd March. Everyone who has worked so hard on this project and the children are very excited to see this project start.
This is a large project so there will be some disruption around the site. The project should take about 4 weeks.

The path will remain open, however, when diggers etc. are accessing/exiting, the path will be temporarily closed for that short period. Temporary chicane fencing will be at the end of the path to help slow down kids etc. running up the path, then on completion, the existing two panels will be repositioned to their current positions. The contractor may also limit access when the fencing is being renewed.

We cannot wait to welcome everyone to this amazing new space and have an official grand opening!

WE'VE DONE IT! The tender for the project has now been awarded and the park will be installed by April 2025 (more updates to come when I have exact dates).
We have successfully secured £209,897.46 to refurbish the park. This value exceeds the initial quote amount. The funds are coming from Fife Council, Fife Environmental Trust, Crail Common Good Fund, Helen Main Trust, St Andrews University Fund, and Co-op Community Fund. And a special and huge thank you to donations from local groups Sarah Mills at Crail Ceramics, Crail Pottery and the Crail Wine Club. Further special thanks go to every member of the community who selected our project as part of the Co-op Community Fund – without you choosing us we wouldn’t have received the amazing amount we did.

We’ve now had confirmation from two of our funding applications that they are able to support with funds. Fife Environmental Trust and Crail Common Good Fund!
With the match funding from Fife Council we are at 88% of our target.
