This October, our determined crew at Amersham Fire Station will be stepping up to a remarkable challenge, walking a full marathon wearing their operational fire kit. That’s 26.2 miles of grit, heart, and heavy kit, all in support of two incredible causes close to the crew’s hearts.
The challenge, taking place on 11 October 2025, is more than just a test of physical endurance. The team will be raising funds for The Fire Fighters Charity and Sparkles, both of which provide vital support to those in need across our communities.
The fire kit worn by the crew adds a unique element to the journey. Each firefighter will be carrying upwards of 20kg, and some Firefighters will also have the weight of a breathing apparatus (BA) set on their back too. They believe the biggest challenge they will face will be fatigue and mental resilience.
